About Me

DAVINCI was formed in mid-October 2005. The band consists of Tyler Stephens [guitar], Adam Rogers [percussion], and Sean Pakos [bass guitar]. This is why music exists: "Music is fascinating because it is, paradoxically, both an art and a science. Art, in that it is a powerful and unique mode of individual expression and an effective conduit for personal emotions and opinions; science, as it can be created and studied systematically and used as a means of gaining and sharing knowledge." This is why we exist: We've decided to give this whole "music purely for the sake of music" idea a run, and we're doing it right here, in the midst of a local scene infested with trite pop-punk, pop-rock, and other pop-nonsense. Straight up. We write mood swinging, oddly arranged instrumental tunes that make children soil themselves. Our music doesn't require "emotionally driven" lyrics or vocals to make a statement; music is powerful, and it speaks for itself. We aim to play what you don't.

"Epic is a word I normally associate with music that has a lot going on in it. DAVINCI, a band with only 3 members, completely shattered that notion last night. I was really blown away at how epic it actually was with such a simple line-up. Unconventional song structures and ridiculous on-stage antics were a winning combination in my eyes and kept me wanting an encore. The last two or three songs they played were rhythmic masterpieces. They really showcased Tyler's ability to create guitar passages that seemed to weave in and out of Sean and Adam's "groovy-as-hell" bass and drum work. It was because of last night that I will forever look forward to every upcoming show they play. I strongly encourage everyone to come out to a show. Vocals are over rated."
