ABOUT RESISTANCE
I think it was a cold February afternoon when "Act 1" began (or maybe it was the prologue). I was about to get into the pool at The Claremont Club and I was talking to my friend, Greg, about how I wanted to start a band. He probably thought, "Well heck! I play the drums. Why don't I join the Band." So, of course, I drafted him onto the band, along with my Asian friend Jo. Pretty soon, my sister Natalie joined, and "JANG" was born. It was fun. The whole band took up one lane and we became the popular topic on deck, especially with the swim chicks. We were treated like celebrities, but we never practiced and we never recorded together( I was 13 and semi-stupid). But all during those 2 years I was writing songs. Songs that I would never listen to. It's pointless for me to say that the "band" broke up. For a while my dreams started to fade, and the girls didn't think of me as the next Bono anymore. So I dreamed and prayed for a band for several months. After that, I joined with a drummer from my church, and we played a few local gigs. After our drummer left, I miraculously found my old friend, Greg, on myspace, 4 years after JANG broke up. He listened to our songs and expressed a desire to join the band. Now, we are playing at local venues and are tracking a self-produced EP. But our identity is more "complexly simple" than our history. We strive to rise above our human nature, surpassing every trend or theory that holds our generation captive. We believe that life is precious and overlooked. We stand out of a lonely world that will never be our home. We understand that this world has nothing for us. We are the resistance. So I urge you, my friends to let go the fleeting attractions. One day, we will lose everything that is tangible, for anything that can be destroyed by fire and decay is not worth investing in. We hope you will join our cause and contribute, not with money (though money is nice), but with an upright lifestyle. Only then can we shape the world into something beautiful. Thus the curtains rise, and our journey begins-- Andrei P.!-Remove Maroon Menu Bar Band Page !-
