Check my work out at www.newtoniumdesigns.com. My name is Doug, & I am an illustrator/graphic designer who has started up my own business. I'm all about networking with other creative and talented artists, 'cause artists are doin it big in 2006, better believe it!
In addition to my layin down the big lead (with my pencil! nasty...), I do tracks on the side. These are more for my own enjoyment than anything else, but if other artists want to work with me on the music side, it's all gravy baby...
Outside of work, I'm just a cat who loves to laugh, and if you like the Family Guy, you're ok in my book!
Influences would be...let see...too many Saturday morning cartoons (remember when you couldn't escape cartoons on Saturday morning? Now you wouldn't know they existed...=( I'm a anime fanatic, which shouldn't surprise you, and i've always been into comics. I read book without pictures too...namely all of the Harry Potter books, The Da Vinci Code...Right now I'm reading a book titled "Dhalgren" that's this weird Sci Fi book...It was a gift for Christmas, so I just started it, and all I can say is..."wierd."
I don't watch much TV anymore, with the exceptions of Lost, The Shield, Boondocks, The Venture Bros., Chappelle's Show (R.I.P.), Battlestar Galactica, The Family Guy, and of course...SportsCenter.
By far my biggest influences now com from movies. I watch so many movies I should have my head examined...My favorites sre too many to name, but a few of my past & present faves are The Usual Suspects, Minority Report, Goodfellas, Office Space, The Wedding Crashers, 40 Year-Old Virgin, Old School, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust, Appleseed (the new one), The Incredibles, X-Men 2, the 1st Matrix, The Animatrix The Professional, Fargo, Stir of Echoes, Coming To America...OK so that's more than a few. But it's only the tip of the iceberg...
Musicians that I'm feelin are all those who aren't afraid to step out of the box, and defy strict definition also those who are just sick with the lyrics; these include Mos Def, Kanye West, Jill Scott, Ludacris, Jay-Z, 2-Pac, B.I.G., Maroon 5, Leela James,Gorillaz, Big L, and a bunch of others I'm too tired too think of right now...
