I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a child of God - captured by His grace, loved for whose I am (His daughter) and forgiven. I will never be worthy of the gifts He has given me. He paid a dear price for my soul - the blood of His Son. As Paul wrote so long ago - "I am the worst of sinners." But let me tell you - His grace has saved my life over and over again. I'm in a constant state of change - a work in progress.
I love to travel. I'm most at peace when I'm behind the wheel of my car, open road ahead. I love to read and I write to clear my head. I love meeting new people and am fortunate that I am able to do so everywhere I go. I love "freeway entrance" signs and the smell of the ocean. I love singing in the car. I love the feel of sand between my toes and dancing in the rain. I always lose thumb wrestling, but I'll kick your butt in leg wrestling (except Tim). I love a good glass of wine and passionate kisses. I tend to focus on the positive and keep the drama out of my life. This isn't a dress rehearsal. We get one chance at life so I choose to LIVE it without regrets.
I'm falling more and more in love with my Savior every day. He has blessed my life abundantly. I am alive today because he loves me and saw fit to keep me around to fulfill His purpose for my life. I'm seeking Him on what exactly that is, but I know he is shaping me into the person he created me to be. I constantly fail, but He is faithful - even when I'm not.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm on here to find new friends and old aquaintances; people who will challenge and encourage me in my walk with God. I am NOT looking for a date or a hook-up so if that is what you are looking for, keep looking and please don't contact me.

My Blog

Value

I've written in the past about confidence, but I've been finding it increasingly difficult lately to take my own words of advice.  The last couple of months have taken a toll on my own sense of self w...

Asleep in the Light

What a day! I'm house/dog-sitting for a friend in Liberty Lake.  I'm also using his vehicle since it's 4-wheel drive and my car probably wouldn't have made it out here most days this week with al...

An Outsiders Perspective

Seeing a picture of my baby nephew with his humongous cheeks and beautiful, heart-warming toothless smile.   A beautiful toddler reaching out her arms to me, wanting to be held after taking a fal...

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Rough week at work - lots of stress, layoffs, uncertainty and more stress.  It's been one of the toughest weeks I've seen since I started this job almost 4 years ago.  I came home to write,...

Election Day

I am disappointed (though, not surprised) by the election results this evening... gut-sick actually.  I know that nothing happens that isn't already known by the Creator, but my heart is gr...

Wedding Date

A little over a month ago, I received an invitation to a friend's wedding.  When he contacted me for my address, I was more than a little surprised to hear that he was getting married, even thoug...

Autumn

After spending Friday evening chilling out at home with my couch-surfer, talking and swapping travel stories, we called it a night around midnight.  I slept surprisingly well, seeing as how there...

Two Words

Two small but very significant words...  The addition of one and the elimination of the other from my vocabulary over the last year has impacted my thoughts, feelings and attitude for t...

Friendship

Often misattributed to George Eliot, the following quote by Dinah Maria Mulock Craik in her book A Life for a Life (1859) is a favorite of mine and has been stuck in my head for a couple days. "B...

Christians: The Greatest Cause of Atheism

I was playing poker last night with a bunch of guys that I'm just now getting to know a little and somehow, the topic of Christianity came up.  Stories were shared about our experiences with Chri...
