Born in the nation's capital of Washington, D.C., THA Q, like Jay Z, was an "80s baby." Growing up, he listened to great rappers such as: LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Run DMC, and Salt-n-Pepa. Later, he would adopt his signature flow from whom he considers the greatest rapper of all time: The Notorious B.I.G. Tha Q's style is dynamic and versatile. He attributes his versatility to studying many different genres of music, including rock/alternative, R&B, Pop, Country, and even Classical compositions. Q is mostly known for his intricate rhyme patterns and chameleon-like flow schemes. His latest mixtape, "Tha Billion Dollar Project," showcases his many talents and offers listeners an opportunity to get inside his head. Tha Q's sound is mainly underground, but he's more than capable of bangin' out a commercial hit. His rap goal is to be honest on the mic and win over a fan-base that appreciates raw emotion through an underground sound and unprecedented lyricism.

This success thing...wut is it?
What is it? I guess that depends on what you define as success. I look at my favorite rappers (Jay Z, Common) and both of them are completely different in their approach...That's what I love about H... Posted by on Sat, 09 Aug 2008 03:12:00 GMT
