Immortal was born August 2, 1972 and grew up with a love for entertainment. As a teenager Immortal spent most of his time in church under the spiritual influences of his pastor, deacons and church elders. He had a great admiration for preachers and desiring to preach but wasnt yet called to preach the gospel until May 1997.The Lord gave him another tool to use as a means of propagating the gospel. In August of 1988 during Vacation Bible School at his home church (First MT. Carmel) he and some other young men with the help of their VBS Teacher (Wendell Brown) performed a gospel rap explaining what they had learned in class that week. His pastor Alan K. Brown was moved by the performance and was led to incorporate gospel rap as a regular activity to provide alternatives for the youth to express themselves and to reach out to their peers. The group was called the JC Crew and each second Sunday of the month they would perform for the congregation. After a group separation Immortal (then known as Bro. T) continued to use his gift for the Lord as his pastor assisted him in writing lyrics that would inspire people to live for the Lord and to be more receptive to the diverse ways God reaches out to people. Immortal gives credit to pastor Brown for teaching him good writing methods and feels like he would not be the type of writer he is today without his type of grooming.ARTIST HISTORYAs the years past Immortal was given the job as the youth director at his church and through his influence he inspired many youth to become a part of the youth activities which included rapping, singing, acting, etc. While serving as youth director Immortal formed several groups such as Christian Soldiers, Sons of The Father, Angela (Solo), Immortal Souljahz, Prisonerz of God and the God Squad. The group has traveled all over the city as special guests at many churches including trips to Louisiana, Port Arthur, Baytown and Praire View. He has done joint ventures with other gospel artist such as X-Thug and Ghost Riter (formally known as C.I.A) The CUP, CPR, Y.D.O.C, D.O.P, Educator, Jewell a.k.a. Fire, Trinity, Christian Man, H2G, S.O.G, MB a.k.a. Twink-Sta, AFC, WB-The Coach and M.I.R. In 1996 Immortal Souljahz became the family name for all the groups he had formed and the name Immortal was then adopted as a symbol of his belief that his labor was not in vain and that only what you for Christ would last."I thank God for immortalizing men of standard such as David, Daniel, Apostle Paul, Peter, John and all of the biblical figures (especially Jesus)who set the stage as patriarchs from the beginning of time to walk with the eternal God." Immortal believed that there is only one cause worth fighting and dying for and that is the Christian cause, so were soldiers for Christ.ABOUT THE LABELIn August of 2001 Immortal started his own record label (IMS ENTERTAINMENT) and in June of 2004 began working on the first CD release Immortal Kombat a compilation disc which features nine of First MT. Carmels finest; Diamond, Da Prophet, Souljah Girl, Souljah T, Gynuwin Souljah, Devyne Souljah, Rychous Souljah and Sacred. After many obstacles and set backs the long awaited album is finally set to release in the fall of 2005. The disc includes titles such as Christians Make The World Go Round, Holy Fire featuring MIR, Frontline Souljahz and Ambassadorz 4 Christ with special guest appearances by Mic D of D.O.P and The Educator.
