About Me

REMAINS OF THE DAY
It's incredible to see the way God works in our lives. It was during the fall of 2005 that the seeds for this band were first planted. It began with three longtime friends ( Shane Mittan, Matt Moore, and Steve Glass) getting together to make a bunch of noise in Shane's garage. At the time, there were no real intentions of starting a full time project, just three guys jamming on Dream Theater and Metallica covers. It wasn't long before a handful of original ideas and riffs started coming together. Seeing the potential in these ideas and realizing they were on to something good, the three decided to take the group full time in October of 2005.
Late one autumn evening, over steaming cups of coffee and piles of french fries, the boys found themselves discussing various music related topics including what to name the band. From the moment the name "Remains of the Day" was suggested, the guys knew they had found what they were looking for. It was now official, Remains of the Day was born and ready to put their stamp on the world of heavy music.
Over the next few months, RotD spent their time creating original material as well as establishing a network of friends, fans, and music industry contacts. It was also during this time that they began searching for additional musicians to add to the mix. Specifically looking for a lead vocalist and a keyboardist, the band advertised on their various websites, coming up mostly empty handed at first. With a truckload of original riffs and song ideas sitting on the shelf, the band was slightly discouraged at the lack of available musicians.
Realizing that they had lost their original focus of using powerful original music to change lives for Christ, they decided to take some time and focus on giving God total control of their future. Once the band decided collectively to offer the group up to the Lord and give him complete control, the floodgates opened up. Quality musicians started to come out of the woodwork, new opportunities presented themselves, and the band really began to get a sense that they are involved in something much bigger than themselves.
At the end of June 2006 Remains of the Day was blessed with the opportunity to add Chris Hinojosa to the lineup as the full time keyboard player. Chris brings an exciting new dimension to RotD's sound, as well as an intense level of musicianship. The group is now in the process of adding Chris's incredible skills to their older material, and creating fresh new music as a four piece.
The band is still in the process of taking auditions to fill the lead vocalist spot. Looking to God for direction in every situation, Remains of the Day continues spread the message of Christ through their music. "This is merely the first chapter of what we expect to be a long and exciting future for the group", says guitarist Matt Moore. As their story unfolds, so will this biography. Please keep checking back for future updates...
