Past M.D. was formed in August 2004, but actually the whole story started way back in 1984, when Jorg -Josh- Reuter became singer for Germany’s Heavy Band Midnight Darkness.
Founder and head of M.D. was guitarist Detlef Poschmann, Michael Roehlke - guitars,
Klaus Petereit - bass and Rudy Pfeiffer on drums completed the Line-Up. At this time M.D. were in a Studio, to self-produce their first Single and Josh hopped in right on time to lay down the vocal-parts for Running From Future and Free Man.
In 1985 M.D. got signed by GAMA-Records from Stuttgart, Germany. They recorded the album Holding The Night at the Spygel Studios in Kirchheim/Teck, which was published through Hot Blood Records in September 1985.
While Michael decided to leave the band a few days before recordings started, Rudy made the same step shortly after the release of Holding The Night and the era Midnight Darkness was over before it even started.
In 1986 D.P., Josh and Klaus sat together to discuss last details on M.D.’s follow up BornChild. With Hans Heringer on drums and Holger Jankowski on guitars. BornChild oriented towards upcomming Glam-Rock Bands, but after a Tour through the Netherlands and Germany, supporting Tygers Of Pan-Tang, Klaus left the band due to private reasons and was replaced by Jürgen -Fred- Becker.
BornChild kept playin’ live, among others with British Rockers Magnum and when Holger left as well, they continued as a four-piece, with lonesome D.P. as the remaining guitarist. Even though BornChild toured a lot and recorded tons of Demos, they never made it to a record deal.
When Josh left the band in 1990, his and D.P.’s ways parted. It took 14 years untill
they met again and recorded Scared Of Dreams within hours. They recovered their perfect harmonize in both, songwriting and the visions about a band, and decided to write enough songs, before putting together the entire band.
In April 2005 they finished the production on Part Time Rebellion.
Works on the follow up Circles started a few month later. The concept album was completed in March 2007. Meanwhile D.P. and Josh started to look out for those who fit into the band perfectly. They found them in:
Frank Butcher on bass, Andre on drums and Marcel on guitars and backing vocals. Butcher and Andre rerecorded bass and drums on Part Time Rebellion in November 2007 and with a new mix, done by none other than Rudy Kronenberger, Part Time Rebellion's ready to be released in Feb. 2008 through Tune Up Records.
