The Hudsons

Voted Best Folk Band in Austin: Austin Chronicle

About Me

By some reports, the Hudsons are among the most original songwriters working in Austin right now. Hudson Mueller and Brian Hudson have been writing and performing together for over 6 years. When asked what type of music they play, The Hudsons often respond in vagaries. Indeed, their unique combination of folk, swing, blues, rap, and other is hard to pin down even for the band members themselves. "We play the songs we write," Mueller explains. "If we happen to write a rap song--hell yes we're going to play it at the show. Now, where the hell did I put my wallet..."

They are frequently joined by their good friends: Leah Zeger on violin, Aeron Starr on harmonica, and Shawn Tuthill on trumpet, whistling, and djembe.
