Spoiled, and loving it!

About Me

myspace code

I was raised on Adak, Alaska -- from 1968 - 1981, and attended school there from Kindergarten through high school graduation. I graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor's in Education, but met and married my best friend before actually putting that degree to work. Now, I am "just" the stay-at-home, homeschooling Mom of Many..well six anyway. Two of the kids have completed high school; the oldest is currently a senior in college, majoring in Criminal Justice; the other is working full-time saving up money for film school. Two of my children have Type I Diabetes, and I am desperately hoping for a cure, but not one that comes from embryonic stem cells..... I have been very happily married for nearly 22 years, and plan to remain so for another 80.I have three dogs that I enjoy a lot--my kids claim I am obssessed and love the dogs more than I love the kids. IT's not true, I swear! : A 14 yr old Golden Retriever mix {Gypsy}, which is the BEST dog we have ever had with kids, and a 3 yr old Basenji {Jazzy} that is my "baby", and a 1 yr old Basenji boy named Keoki. We also have two cats, 15 yr old Ginger and 3 yr old Nerfnuzzle.!!!!!STOP ABORTION NOW!!!!! !!!!!STOP ABORTION NOW!!!!!

My Interests

ABORTION DOESN'T MAKE YOU UN-PREGNANT. IT MAKES YOU THE MOTHER OF A DEAD BABY.I like gardening -- veggie or flower. I like going to dog shows. I enjoy having friends over for coffee. I enjoy long drives to nowhere..just hit the road and go, esp. if there are mountains and lakes involved. I like stupid, embarrassing to admit, computer games like Zuma and bejeweled. Anything else is way too above me. Wow. I AM a bore.

I'd like to meet:

font color="blue"Hmmm, Mel Gibson {duh}, Edgar Martinez..... Jim Caveziel....

Music:

I have no particular favorite genre... I guess, if I hear it and like it, I like it.Favorite song in the world? It's a Wonderful World as sung by Louis Armstrong.

Movies:

Anything with Mel Gibson. Did God make a more beautiful human being? {Other than my Darren, of course) I like romantic comedies, I just wish there was more romance and less sex in today's movies. {Cary Grant was sexy and irresistible, and never had to show me his underwear, you know?

Television:

New favorite show -- Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. It does make me kind of sick to watch sometimes, but I can't help myself! I also really like Little People, Big World and Jon and Kate Plus 8.I am also an American Idol addict. Oh yeah, and FoxNews. Can't live without it. Have a little crush on Shepard Smith...and maybe Sean Hannity..... but it's the news I watch! Really.

Books:

Depends on my mood and how busy I am. Otherwise, it just really depends on the particular book. I have recently enjoyed My Grandfather's Son by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and The Seventeen Traditions by Ralph Nader.

Heroes:

My Dad -- Levon L. "Bill" Sims. Absolutely. He was an amazing man, with the deepest possible love for his wife and children. A man of great intelligence, wisdom, talent. There will never be another like him.My Mom. The ultimate Mom. Gave her all to raising ten kids. If I can be half the mom that she is...I'll be thrilled and my kids will be lucky.Jesus Christ; the Lord and Savior of the World. What more needs to be said?Pope John Paul II; a beacon of hope for a troubled world.Elena and Benjamin Turner, for facing life with Type I Diabetes with strength and determination. On a lighter note: Edgar Martinez; the King of Baseball. He had the talent to succeed, the drive to never stop working at it, a great attitude for kids to see, and a real love of the game.

Ronald Reagan Quote. . .

I miss this man: "There seems to be an organized, well-financed lobby determined to preserve the natural habitat and comfort of every species except man. Well, it is time to remember that we are ecolo...
