About Me

Native Washingtonian and graduate in Classical Percussion- Music Performance from Towson University Towson, Maryland. Mr. Green possesses over Thirty (30) Years of experience in stage, studio, recording performance and production. He is largely self-taught other than the formal training recieved at Towson University.Although Mr. Green was self taught until his entry into Towson University, he masterfully achieved proficiency in all percussion instruments very quickly and astonished his teachers and fellow classmates with his ability to assimilate information at rapid learning speeds. This also led to him writing his own mallet and drum compositions for his required performance recitalsMr. Green has “shedded or discussed” with many in the industry on ideas and concepts about drums and playing. This list includes such artist as: John Bebbs; Steve Gadd; Dennis Chambers; Gary Husband; Kenwood Dennard; Billy Cobham; Chick Corea; Jeff Ocheltree; Dave Weckyl; Peter Erskine; Hank Levy; Terri Bozzio; Anthony Cox; Cindy Blackman; Dewy Redman; Michael White; Roy Haynes; Clyde Stubblefield; Jabo Starks; and Ralph Peterson among others. Within these discussions, there were concepts passed along that have help him progress as a human being, musician, and percussionist /drummer.This gained information is priceless. Mr. Green uses the concepts learn from these icons in his teaching methods and have met with great success. Influences: Early influences run the gamut from early English progressive bands like: Gong, Gentle Giant, Brand X, Passport, Genesis, King Crimson and Yes to American groups such as: Earth Wind and Fire, Mandril, Cameo; Ohio Players; Grand Funk; Parliment Funkadelics; Sly Stone; Tower of Power; AWB; Mahavishnu Orchestra;and James Brown just to name a few...His love for jazz includes influences from the likes of early Jazz pioneers such as Duke Ellington all the way to the modern jazz artists like: Gonzalo Rubalcaba; Kenny Garret; Gary Thomas; Roy Hargrove; Joshua Redman and Steve Coleman.
Sounds Like: Who knows.....? Ya feelin’ me....? I guess myself and others at times as well...... So I’ve been told........ It’s all good though.......Thanks to GOD and his many blessings!!!!
