Like a lot of singers, Keenya has had a gift since her toddler years. From singing Whitney Houston as her mother jammed by the stereo to remixing songs in the grocery store like "We Are The World" to "We Are The Cabbage Patch" while being pushed in a shopping cart. Music was her soul. As Keenya began to grow and veture, she took all of her musical exposure and began to write song lyrics for R&B, Neosoul, Reggae, Pop & Rock; Creating symphonic ensembles in her mind, all she needed was a producer to make it come to life. Being dragged through life's challenges, Keenya always seemed to find her way back home to her life's purpose, MUSIC. From those challenges, Keenya evolved into something beyond her imagination. She decided if she was going to write, she would not be the typical R&B love song writer, nor would she indulge in the simple minded writing that she saw was ever so popular, instead, she chose to write with her REAL EYES! Songs like First Degree Murder exposed her views and love for the Black community while Sick cried out to women to take back their dignity and self-respect. Other songs like I Am and River of Life gave you the multifaceted pesonalities of Keenya. She has worked with Music Producer and Artist Miami Myztro, a B. Cox affiliate, former Slip n' Slide artist, SUPA, Reggae artisit Ras Igel and Spla-I-Jah as well. As she diligently works on her album, "Love, Peace & Empowerment", Keenya has been known to perform in popular Atlanta venues such as, Apache Cafe and Cafe 290, and has participated in The 2008 Natural Hair Show in Atlanta, and the 2008 Sweet Auburn Springfest. You are bound to ssee more of Keenya as she continues to wow the world with her melodic tunes.
