Hi ya! i'm what you can call dessart. playing my ideas and creativity around in amsterdam. hoping to make the cultural scene a bit more interesting as it already is. you can conceive me as a song maker on the loose.
I started to play music at a age of 15. It was my dying wish to play in a formation with other people. So i started off with any band that was available in the town I grew up in, which was Heerlen in the south of Holland. Real possiblities to play weren't there but tried to do something with a couple of acquaintences. So 'mickey' came to in existance together with 'anus', (both punk) later on some coverbands.
But it didn't last that long. Than over a periode of trying to write music, failling, trail and error together with first love played a couple of gigs. But as ever.. when the love was gone so was the duo.
So i went off to Amsterdam to study and got acquainted the singer of the white rose (a gothic electro band). started playing with this band and got the ass kicked for even trying. It was all in good fun!
together with my roommate back than started a couple of projects that we kinda did for for absolutely nothing.. cheer fun was the key-word and my goodness what did he help me to improve my playing, style and presentation. (Aram, when you are reading this.. thanks bro..!!)
Through working at a bar called the soundgarden I've met a guy call Paul Whittlesea . Did an audition and teamed up with the band organic. it was interesting. a band with enough songs and wierd members. I felt right in! played the cd needlepoint, recorded a couple of demos (transformation, monster and a untitled one) and after a year or seven, quite the band.
Though, found new musical friends, through the band what was previousely called organic by then whittlesea, the remarkable bassplayer Niek and sublime drummer Huub . After a few years new music was produced with compotions from my hand and the influence of Niek and Huub. You can hear some of it right now while reading this!. But yet againt this band doesn't exists anymore.
Recently I teamed up with a very nice and talented guy called Julius Squidwalker. And we started playing resulting in a suprisegig at art gallery radar architecture & art for the exhibition 'rising out of chaos.At this moment I am working on new material and starting a jam band with John and Nick of cell 7 . Any drummer who feels the urge to pick up the glove is more than welcome to give haller!
One thing is for sure we will meet one another at some gigs around amsterdam! Till than!
