What I cherish: Being a husband, dad and friend.
What I do for money (and a bit of fun): I'm a publicity executive with nearly 20 years experience in entertainment-related PR.
I also work part-time advising people about their finances, and in particular, getting great insurance. Yes, it's possible to do both!
No one seems to want to read my stories about being a husband and dad, etc., so here's more about my work...
I'm now the director of PR for a major animation studio in the LA area. My background includes:
Six years working for NBC on such notable shows as Just Shoot Me, Scrubs, Freaks and Geeks, and the Dick Wolf-produced reality series Crime & Punishment. I also worked on kids' shows like Saved By the Bell, Hang Time, California Dreams and more.
Four years on my own, taking on projects for such varied clients as The Tennis Channel, Anime Network, PBS, Game Show Network, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and ABC Family.
Two years as Director of Publicity at the renowned Hanna-Barbera Cartoons Studio, where I worked on the launch campaigns of such current kids icons as The Powerpuff Girls, Dexters Laboratory and Johnny Bravo, among others.
Three years at a PR agency where I took great pride in creating Emmy-winning campaigns for such off-the-radar projects as The Disney Channel's Avonlea, Tricia Yearwood: The Song Remembers When and Harry Connick Jr.: The New York Big Band Concert.
And talk about being in the right place at the WRONG time...I was the publicist for Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club in the early-to-mid 90s, which featured Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling and current mega-stars Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, JC Chasez and Christina Aguilera, as well as quite a few more destined to be household names in the future. Of course, no one in the media cared a bit for these kids back then, but I just KNEW they were destined for big things. Hey teen magazines -- I told ya so!
