About Me

Bruce Moulton was raised in the green goodness of New Hampshire, and he returns to the Shire as often as he can. He now lives and studies and plays in the mountains of Northern Utah, working on a degree in Liberal Arts at Utah State University. His music is inspired by his own experiences, friends, and feelings. His one and only album Facing the Dream was recorded on a Saturday in September 2007, and includes 5 years'-worth of writing (and only ten tracks...)

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I do the writing/arranging, as well as most of the singing and guitar playing. I’m also the whistling fool you might hear. I got a little help from my friends for the recording- Sheldon on harmonies & lead licks, Tosh on bass & cello, Spicer on percussion, Becky on harmony vocals, Scott on mandobanjofiddlin... I usually play my little shows solo.
..
Influences: I dig the classics- James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, the Grateful Dead. More recent influences include John Gorka, Dustin Paraskeva, Jack J and Ben Harper. If you ask what I listen to, I would add music like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, Boston, Phish, Counting Crows, Collective Soul, although I don’t know how much influence they’ve had on my own music. I guess they influence me, and I write the music, so yeah. Jimi Hendrix changed my life back in high school... Speaking of which, much love and appreciation to everyone in the Timberlane Regional High School music department, where I was raised as a musician. As a songwriter, I’m inspired by the usual things- happiness, friendship, sadness, rejection, love, hope, change...
Sounds Like: A good friend told me I sound like James Taylor but then again, she's a good friend...
