In 2002,two gentlemen, Brandon Wright(Micneto) and Brandon Adams(Yung Higha) met at Harnett Central High School in Angier, NC. The two quickly discovered that they both had a love for poetry and hip-hop/rap music. Then one day the two gentlemen were having a conversation over the phone and an idea came up. Thus The Coalition (C.O.) was born.
Humbly aspiring “Micneto”, born Brandon Wright on December 22,1984 in Raleigh,NC, has spent 19 of his 23 years of life in North Carolina. His passion for music (especially hip-hop) started when he was young. He also started writing poems from as far back as 3rd grade. The artist that influences him the most is Nas. “When I first heard Illmatic, my life changed.” “I knew that I wanted to be a rapper” says Micneto. So from then on, not only would he write poems but he would write raps as well. While steadily listening to Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Biggie, Tupac, Mobb Deep, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and Little Brother. He has spent the past four years of his life in the US NAVY. Recently he has moved back home with his ambition clear. He realizes now that his desire and love for hip-hop have became stronger. So he now wants to follow a dream and with the guidance of all great rappers alike! No doubt simply put: “The goal to remain humble reliable, honest and consistent will definitely bear the fruits for those destined for greatness.”
Born Brandon Adams on the beautiful day of June 9,1985 in North Carolina. He has been holding it down in NC ever since. Brandon,not born into hip-hop,yet soon he would find his beat. His life has been surrounded by a family of singers,music is obviously in his veins. At age 12,not stressed by the fact that he couldn't sing,Brandon discovered his skill for poetry and story telling. Which launched him into the world of hip-hop. The duo of Kris Kross influenced him in his younger days. Along with Will Smith. In the present day,Yung Higha, is influenced by Nas,Jay-Z,Busta Rhymes and his favorite rapper Eminem. Yung Higha's style reflects his upbringing. He is diverse and somtimes off the wall.
Ryan Wright aka N.I.,grew up loving hip-hop. But his main influence growing up was not a famous rapper. It was his older brother Brandon Wright (Micneto). Ryan was born on August 10,1989 in Raleigh,NC. And with a little help from his older brother, he easily fell in love with hip-hop music. At age 11, the North Carolina mc,began to write poetry and songs. He and his brother held writing sessions every Friday night when they were younger. "If it wasn't for my brother I don't know if I would have ever began writing." Ryan says. Now at age 18, N.I. is a key member of The Coalition(C.O.). His influences are Nas,Phonte from Little Brother and Median just to name a few. He says that "The C.O. has a distinct style that all hip-hop lovers can relate to". "We are a versatile group of talent that will become the future of hip-hop." Ryan currently works at Affiliated Computer Services in Cary,NC. But he knows that his time there is limited because he and The C.O. have a greater plan!
(Tha North/South Rapper) was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and as life went along around tha age of 15 1/2 he always watched his uncle Emmanuel Fortune Rap and grew up aorund his uncle Hayes to with his ventures so he picked up little effects from them in put it and mind and once out a life time just started writing his own rhymes and then kept tryin to practice on his Freestyling then became better and better everyday until one day he decide to start recordin His music on CD and make it a career and his record days start when he moved down to North Carolina and all way he was in school he had freestyle battles and everyone he got the win out it and know he hold the title $ Tha North Cack King $ for Show.
Was born at C.H.K.D of Norfolk, VA on June 12, 1991. Smook and his family have lived in numerous places around the VA state. Including: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeak, and Hampton. At the age of 10 Smook had found a love for music. At the age of 12 Smook started writing his own lyrics and started getting a feel for the production side of music too. First learning how to play the piano then worked his way threw many different instruments. When Smook was 13yrs old him and his family had moved to Louisburg NC. When Smook moved to North Carolina his life hit a downfall. At the age of 14yrs old tragedy hit his life hard. On July 4, 2005 his close cousin Judy “Tink” Myles committed suicide. Then, 2 weeks later his god-brother Demont “Half A Cap” Gwaltney was killed in the Norfolk VA district. So, Smook had plenty of reasons why he wanted to pursue a dream in the music industry. In 2008, Smook had hooked up with a group of lyricist out of North Carolina called “THE COALITION”. The team brought a family like feel to him so he decided to join and become a member of the CHOSEN ONE camp. To this day Smook has took on the title for being the North Carolina prince. “It’s a strong title to up hold and im up holding it. My style is so different cause I can switch up my style in many different ways.” To this day Smook yells C.O. and still enjoys making beats for him and other artists. Some day and hopefully soon Smook will make his big industry debut and shock the world for they are not ready for the Prince of North Carolina aka Young Goon aka Mr. Down South Go Getta aka SMOOK!!!
