The story of Sidewinder traces its roots back in the spring of 2006, when frontman Stefan Stancuna, along with then-newbie drummer and class-mate Mihai Ciurea a.k.a. Mizdris, formed a band called Stream. First, with the help of another class-mate, they recruited lead guitarist Calin Gonz a.k.a. Eddy, whose skills were supposedly renowned in the town's metal comunity. Then came along a female rhythm guitarist, Roxana Cirstea, and finally, a bass player by the name of Daniel Danila came in. Thus the line-up was complete. Rehearsals followed, but were short lived. Tensions began to arise between Eddy and Roxana. Not being called up by Eddy for rehearsals, Roxana was left out of the band. Searches for a new rythm guitarist began and very soon the position was filled by Alexandru Popa of the now-defunct band Efemer and were soon back on track....at first. Ironically, after a band meeting in Club 32, the band decided to let go of Eddy, the cause cited being poor skills and bad attitude. Attending the band meeting and the dismissal of Eddy was lead guitarist Andrei Radulescu a.k.a. Ane. Not 5 minutes after Eddy was fired, Ane got the job and again rehearsals began along with Efemer at the Childrens Palace. During this period, the band changed their name to Fugue was rehearsing less because of time constraints, given the fact that Efemer was rehearsing all day long and leaving too little time for Fugue. Another reason for this was that Mizdris and Alex rehearsed both with Fugue and Efemer, but focusing on the latter. By the end of the summer, the two left Fugue to join Efemer, leaving Fugue to recruit a new drummer and a new guitarist. The search for a drummer was to end on the same day Mizdris and Alex left. Remembering that he had an old friend who played drums, Daniel called Calin Butoi, formerly of Trauma, and asked him if he could join. He accepted without hesitation. While the process of searching for a drummer was short, the guitarist slot was open for a long time. Various guitarists auditioned for the band, with no results except for a 15 year-old called Marian Anghelescu a.k.a. Mane, who was asked to join, but after a few jam sessions with Calin said that he would not want to play our musical style. After this episode, the band went on rehearsing hiatus and became concentrating on writing original material. In February of 2007, consequently of taking on skiing, hiking and other mountain related sports, Daniel was fired. For the moment, Stefan assumed the position of lead singer and bass player. Later that month, Calin was asked by Dynasty's bass player, Mihai Radneantu, to join his band, after doing jam sessions togheter with Mane. He accepted on the condition that he filled in for a couple of shows. Also, he was asked by newly-reunited Ankh's guitar player Adrian Cojocaru, during a jam session along Mane, but refused the collaboration. On April 13 ( yes, it was a friday ) Dynasty held it's first show at Club Tsunami, along with Calin, playing Metallica cover songs. The setlist continued to be mostly of Metallica songs for the second show too, that being on May 20 the same year at Senator Club, proving to be highly acclaimed, as fans wanted Dynasty to do an encore. That was the last show for Calin with Dynasty. Ironically, Mizdris came in to fill the open drummer slot of Dynasty. Around the same time, Fugue was struggling to find a new band name. It ended when, during a conversation with Ane on IM chat, Calin saw on Ane's status a song by Avenged Sevenfold called Sidewinder and proposed the name for the band. In July of 2007, the band had completed the writing of their debut album, although no lyrics were written yet. Around that time, Efemer broke up and Zar came in the picture as the new bass player, when he was asked by Stefan to join Sidewinder. Up until mid-February 2008, nothing interesting happened in the Sidewinder Camp except hanging out, when a new guitarist was found by the name of Laurentiu Florea, unfortunately not for long, being fired due to creative incompatibility. Another unfortunate event has occured in late october - early november. Long-time friend and rhythm guitarist Ane Radulescu was fired due to commitment issues, founding ourselves once again to look for guitar players. Extremely shortly after Ane was fired, Razvan Paraschivescu and Alexandru Tirziu joined the band, bringing new energy to the band. Today, we are concentrating on recording their debut album, yet unnamed, schedueled for release in early 2009.
================================================= Here's what people say about us : =================================================

Chris Caffery ( Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra ): Sidewinder Rocks! Keep it Metal in Romania!

Bob : You guys kick major ass.Especially at a young age.The bass player is like Cliff Burton revisited.Totally ass kickin. Major props. Sidewinder all the way

AK Wangster : damn, you guys have some pretty bad ass tracks. I'm into Iron Maiden, and Dragonforce, and you guys are almost alike, but have your own twist. I like it a lot.

Lloyd Carter : Unique sounds,very good ideas,great music!!!

Serious Defect : Awesome and Menacing tunes!

Dean : I think that you have a very original sound for Metal, your guitar tone is reminiscent of Cliff Burton's Bass on Anesthesia Pulling Teeth, very cool.

Rick Lingg : Brutally Awesome...Love the raw Power and Drums! Keep it up!!

Requiem : HELL YES!!!!!!!!YOU GUYZ ARE F...KING AMAZING

Chabha : Wow I was drilled by the drums on the first song thinking man I would love to rock like that. Killer sick and twisted guitars, awesome pumping pulsing bass, and right on with the killer drumming. You guys are a force to be reckoned with. Sheer energy in the purest form. Great productions must be insane to see you live.

F.J. Gouldner : Holy Shit dudes something different and pleasantly brutal!! Keep laughing in the face of convention and bleed through mediocrity!

Red Reaper 166 : Your music is the reason why I listen to METAL, You rule. Keep up the good work

Arthur Herege : THAT MADNESS!!!!! Never listened anything equal!!!!! I found very interesting, the fact of the guitar not to have any serious emblem practically. The drummer is also a monster, pedal very good, great double chimings. GREAT WORK

White Wolf : Felicitari copii !

Shavy : OMG!!!

Joe : Excellent! Very enjoyable and unique metal.

Bolverkr : damn when i listen your songs, i travel in same world of when i was young
