I'd like to meet:
Welcome
Hi and welcome to our myspace!About a year ago, two Portuguese McFLY fans decided to create this myspace, in order to promote this awesome band in Portugal and get in touch with other fans from all over the world. Since then, a whole lot of amazing things has happened, and we’d like to thank everybody that has contributed to make this myspace what it is today. Our aim is still promoting McFLY in Portugal and we can say for sure that, today, we are closer than we have ever been. But still, if you don’t know McFLY, just put the volume higher and take a listen at this awesome British band that has been bringing quality pop back to the music scene since 2003.If you are already a fan (how couldn’t you be?), don’t be shy and send us a message/comment. We may take a while to reply, cause there are always so many things happening at the same time and it’s hard for us to always be round myspace, but we will respond, eventually. Your patience is much appreciated, and we are sorry about this. We’re trying! Thanks for checking us out and please help us promoting McFLY… they really deserve it. Keep spreading the mclove!Cátia and Joana
McFLY
Thomas Michael Fletcher was born in Harrow, London, England, on July 17th, 1985. Since early he started playing guitar, as he used to watch his father doing it, and sometimes even went on stage with him. That’s why Tom says his father and The Beach Boys are his inspiration. All his talent finally was recognised when we went to Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. A few years later, he left the school, as he thought there were many other boys more talented than him and didn’t give him any chance. After participating in some short films and TV adverts, Tom found his way to Busted audition. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he didn’t make it, but the producers liked him, so he stayed around until the day he saw Danny Jones (as known as the-only-person-who-goes-to-a-pop-band-audition-with-an-acou
stic-guitar) and it was love at first sight (with no gay references). And then, after Dougie and Harry joined the band, McFLY was born. Tom is one of the lead vocalists and plays rhythm guitar (occasionally solo guitar) and piano. He is one of UK best song-writers, as he counts with ten number one singles, not only written for McFLY but also for Busted (he writes a lot with James Bourne) and, recently, for the V Band.
Daniel Alan David Jones was born on March 12th, 1986 in Bolton, Lancashire, England. Leaving everybody surpised when he carried an acoustic guitar for the V Band audition, Danny (commonly known as Ratleg) could prove his talent for music in 2003, when McFLY started. He has played the guitar (denying his left handed origins xD) since he was a kid, and thanks to his master influence, Bruce Springsteen, he has learnt how to play the harmonica. Describing himself as peaceful and innocent (shall we believe?), Danny is one of the lead vocalists of McFLY, as well as (most of the time) the main guitarist. Famous for his impressing solos, countless freckles and eternal joy, Danny says he would be a football player if he wasn’t in McFLY. So basically, what he meant was, support Bolton Wanderers F.C.!!! Anyway, Danny himself wrote alone some of the most deep and touching songs of McFLY, like Not Alone or Walk In The Sun. Social and “smart on his Jones wayâ€, since childhood he seemed different from the other kids, like he was marked to be a success. And he really is.
Dougie Lee Poynter was born in Corringham, Essex, England on November 30th, 1987. The bassist and youngest member of McFLY has played his instrument (the bass, okay?) since before he can remember (which means since he was thirteen). Back at that time, he played in a band named Ataiz, in a Blink 182 style. That’s no news, as Dougie confesses admiring a lot Tom Delonge, being his favourite song, “Don’t tell Me It's Overâ€, by his idol’s ex-band. This little boy (well, not that much, he is 1.78 m) loves animals, especially reptiles, having two lizards, two iguanas, two snakes, two tortoises and (uff!), most recently, a chocolate labrador puppy called Flea. That’s why he can’t surprise us when he says if he wasn’t in McFLY he would be a herpetologist (impressing, isn’t it? Is someone who studies reptiles). Dougie usually sings the back vocals of McFLY songs, but he has recently found (or maybe someone told him) he could totally have his own solo vocals, so we can hear him in songs like Transylvania, Silence is a Scary Sound (which he wrote back on Ataiz) and Ignorance.
Harry Mark Christopher Judd was born in Chelmsford, Essex, England, on December 23rd, 1985. The McFLY drummer-to-be, or Harry as child, was already a very sporty person. His parents made him grow up with music, listening to names like The Used, The Beatles, The Doors and so on. Living fast and (hopefully not soon) dying fun, Harry has taught himself how to play the drums at the age of 14. He also knows how to play the piano, the trumpet and sing, although he claims he isn’t that good (as if we believed) at it. This lazy, fun and chilled (it’s him who says!) guy is crazy about any kind of sports, especially cricket. Although Harry doesn’t participate that much with his voice on McFLY songs, he does give a hand when it comes to write them, which is, using his own expression, refreshing. Relating his kind heart to his fast legs, Harry has participated in many charity events. In April, he run the Flora London Marathon, in order to help Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) and The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT), and he got together a vast quantity of money. Congrats, Harry!Navigate!
