About Me

"That was why I came to Iraq: to help little kids keep their schools safe...And maybe to kill a few bad guys along the way." -Paul Rieckhoff, 1st Lt, U.S. Army
first off...
"We will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate among us anyone who does, furthermore, I resolve to do my duty, and live honorably, so help me God."
i take that very seriously.
to lump everything together, i'm an 18 year old 1st-12th homeschooled, live with his parents, pilot, pastor's kid, Security guard, college student, US Marine Corps Infantry Rifleman Reservist. i dont plan on staying there enlisted forever; i'm only there to get money for skool then i'll be off doing some aviation job. my dream is to be in one of the military Reserves working on the weekends and work for an airliner flying 747s, 767s, or 777s...
if you dont know me that well yet, i'll talk about airplanes, their systems, their avionics, their parts, pros/cons of assorted aircraft, pretty much everything about an aircraft for hours without getting bored. i'm nuts about anything that is made out of wood and cloth, metal, composites, or any combination thereof that flies.

My Interests

i love to go flying and doing stuff with civil air patrol. nothing beats seeing tomorrow's leaders get molded together under your care. whenever mom isnt yelling at me not to, my nose is always in one of Tom Clancy, W.E.B. Griffin, Patrick Robinson, or Ted Bell's books. i love their novels.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
--John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Marines are about the most peculiar breed of human beings I have ever witnessed. They treat their service as if it was some kind of cult, plastering their emblem on almost everything they own, making themselves up to look like insane fanatics with haircuts to ungentlemanly lengths, worshipping their Commandant almost as if he was a god, and making weird animal noises like a band of savages. They'll fight like rabid dogs at the drop of a hat just for the sake of a little action, and are the cockiest SOB's I have ever known. Most have the foulest mouths and drink well beyond man's normal limits, but their high spirits and sense of brotherhood set them apart, and, generally speaking, of the United States Marines I've come in contact with, are the most professional soldiers and the finest men I have had the pleasure to meet.
