Phantom Club

The Phantom Club effort began in May 07 with a dead battery. I met Drew Cleveland. He didn't say much but "jumper cables, sure...what? music? a little guitar...I have heard of him...oh they're good...yeah, bakersfield...yeah he was great wasnt he." We agreed enough to get together and there we were, on a porch with instruments in hand wondering what in the hell to do. Then Drew brought out the black folder and played one of those songs. We got through seven songs and then we put a London broil on the barbecue...For years working in other bands (Filibuster, The Tickdodgers, Buegos Nosos, The Scandalins) I've wanted the opportunity to help drive a group, but not be too involved with the writing. This has been a great way to do just that. There just is not enough time to record all the ideas, which is the perfect place for me. In the fall of 07' We added the musical talents of Warren Moak . We enjoyed a trip to Seattle and shared the studio with Ben Barnett, John Albert, and Red Hickey, early in the new year. Now we're here on the porch and it's smokey outside and Phantom Club is discussing the sound this bird makes at sunset time. We've yet to see this bird but we've heard it. You've probably not seen us, but maybe you'll listen? If we end up actually seeing the bird then you'll have to come see a show or invite us to play your next wing ding - Ok...hope your car doesn't die on the way there.
