Band Members: Early lifeG-N9NE was born Kyle Knight in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised all over MA. His father is Puerto Rican and his mother is African American. His parents were young and never married when N9NE was born. His father spent most of N9NE's childhood on drugs and out of the house which left N9NE's mother to raise him and his siblings alone. N9NE would then grow very smart and aware of his surroundings as he was left to care for himself alone when his mother was not around.
He started writing something resembling poetry at a young age and it started taking form. Eventually, he got the courage and rapped his rhymes on the streets of Boston.
N9NE grew up around the corner from C-Menniz and Murda-H so they would usually rap together, as N9NE taught his rap skills to his two childhood freinds, he continued to get into trouble with the police and was eventually sent to reform school. This was a troubled time for a then 16-year old N9NE, as he would lose his grandmother (whom he was very close to) soon after and go into a deep depression. N9NE attended New York Military Academy in Newburgh, New York. Even when he was in school, instead of doing his school work he would write down everything that came to mind. Even when he wasn't rapping, he would write. It was something he did in his spare time. Eventually he was released and continued where he left off writing rhymes with his group and getting into more trouble eventually dropping out of school and persuing his dream full time.
He derives his nickname "BIG-n9ne" from his massive size, which further developed since military school.
-He often says the "n9ne" in his name is also a representation of the fact that he first started rhyming when he was 9 years old.Rise to PopularityN9NE quickly became one of the most respected artist in Boston due to his powerful delivery and slick punch lines.
