A Dj by the name of KOOL HERC (Clive campbell) of Afro-Jamaican heratige was living with his sister at 1520 SEDGWICK AVENUE. in a well known Black neighborhood
on the WestSide of the Bronx , he threw a party for his sister and a back to school party in the recreation room of the building 1520 and eventually moved his parties outside to Cedar park wich is located at sedgwick and cedar Ave. his Park jams grew as he improved his skills of Deejaying where he mixed his Afro-jamaican style with Afro-american style of Music MC / Deejaying before a large Black crowd from different neighborhoods with his shout outs over the speaker system to friends and homeboys from all over the area Herc played SOUL , FUNK , R&B , records especially " JAMES BROWN AND HIS FUNKY DRUMMERS " and other funk and soul stars , he would take the instrumental breakbeat section the part of the record where the crowd would " dance " and get down & funky to the drums and bass of the song and extend it longer so the crowd could go crazy and Go off on the dance floor he did this with " two turntables " he became known for this style wich the crowd and people loved of herc parties wich he blasted to the crowd with a " Giant powerful speakers and amp system the (the herculords)" wich Nobody at that time the early 70's could mess with herc in a dj system battle. his fame grew and He eventually moved on from outside parkjams other spots like the P.A.L. community center on webster ave. to clubs like the Twighlight zone and the Hevalo and the Executive Playhouse clubs in the Bronx. this was during the days of DISCO mainstream , herc soon came to change all this in time with his style of music play.
KOOL HERC had a crew of homeboys , wich was mistakingly called the herculords after the name he gave his powerful sound system , his team helped rocked parties with him all over the bronx he refered to them as the " B - BOYS " meaning ( break , to go off ) if you heard this term before in hiphop this is where it came from , his crew of homeboys were :
The first hiphop MC : COKE LA ROCK , Dj TIMMY TIMM , Dj CLARK KENT who also dj and B-boy danced. - Herc also had street dancers that would go off at his parties and rock the dance floor.

THE ORIGINAL FIRST B - BOY BREAK DANCERS OF HIPHOP ERA :
**** CHECK OUT THE FIRST TOP FRIENDS PAGE ABOVE ^^^ *****
Two Brothers KEITH and KEVIN called " THE NIGGA TWINZ "
, TRICKSY , SAUSAU , ELDORADO MIKE , JAMES BOND and BOBO and a few others these are the original B-BOY dancers who were inspired by JAMES BROWN the godfather of soul dance style and his song called " THE GOOD FOOT " wich all the Black kids around america where doing in the late 60's and 70's sometimes called " the drop " but the dance in Newyork would Later be called doing " the B-boy " named after hercs original street dancers that would always be burnin / going off / and rockin his parties up until the late 70s. there were other dancers of this time PUPPET MASTERS , KEV AND ICE , NUGGET , FLIPPIN JOHNNY COOL , DANCIN DOUG , LAY LAY , MISSY , and others ...
When B-BOYING and the WestCoast " funk style dancing " LOCKING , BOOGALOO , POPPIN had become very popular over in Newyork known as the ELECTRIC BOOGIE one of the various innovative dance styles of Black america. At the time There was also the Original BLACK SPADES / ZULU KINGS first (5) B - BOYS included SWAIN , BEAVER , ROBBIE ROB who helped influenced and taught many people how to do the B-boy dance in the South Bronx river area.
The original Black B-boys who started the early foundation for this dance which is now some times called break dance " were NOT caught on video tape that much , if not at all. But there memory and names are still being spoken of but The dance during those times were way more funky and had more footwork to get down too funk and soul music , check out the old *( SOUL TRAIN tv show footage episodes 1971. )
" Take note " there were hundreds if not a thousand dancers from different black communities that were doing other known Black dances and B-boyin at this time in the late 60s and early 70s at house parties and clubs / lounges who are never mentioned who quit dancin as they became older becuase it was more of just a social recreation thing for enjoyment at parties not a occupational job.
There are 50 yr old Black B - BOYS & B - GIRLS walking around so dont be shocked !! they Were the originals before the idea spread in 1976 to other people.
- ( 1974 - 75 )
By this time the influence has spread over to the SOUTH BRONX and HARLEM because of the connection of Black deejays and party goers all over newyork. The two of the most notable DJs of this time were " AFRIKA BAMBATTA " who was a gang leader of the BLACK SPADES in the bronx river section of the bronx a very large Black street gang of the 70s , he eventually formed the " ORIGINAL SHAKA ZULU KINGS " his own Bboy crew of Mc / Rappers and dancers from the south bronx , wich actually help spread the Modern Style of B-boy/Hiphop culture Mainstream to other races and nationalities of people and help stop gang violence of that time by creating " THE UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION " And there was - " DJ GRANDMASTER FLASH ( Joseph saddler )" who invented cutting and various turntable tricks of speed that pushed the art of deejaying since "71. an " GRAND WIZARD THEODORE " who invented the art of Scratching records into a musical tool of sound.
Later in the late 70's and beginning of the early 80's when hiphop went mainstream the b - boy dance became dominated more about GYMNASTIC TRICKS done to music wich is not really considered dancing any more to the early 70's B-BOY originators.
But not alot of the first original African - american B - boys who originated and created this art form dance style were Not or rarely ever caught on video tape or film , but there names and street stories of them gettin funky on the dance floor and pioneering the idea of this dance based off james brown and funk records from the late 60s and early 70s are still being spoken of and remembered until this day.
EVEN SOME FAMOUS HIPHOP PIONEERS WERE ORIGINAL B-BOY DANCERS BEFORE BECOMING MCs , DJs , WRITERS :
PHASE 2 , MELLE MEL , AFRIKA ISLAM , KURTIS BLOW , GRAND MIXER DST. , POW WOW and many others. (they were B-boying before it actually became popular and traveled around to the rest of Newyork.
But By the years of 1977-79 the B-boy dance was considered played out too a lot of Black kids because its usually just a dance for that short time period like most dance trends that come and go over the years out of Black - american communities its all ways something brand new coming out or being created , but with hiphop going mainstream pop the dance came back with a new generation of dancers and people of different racial ethnicities and it also became more about gymnastic with power moves not funky less footwork.
Just as other African-american dance crazes that took america by storm like ( SWING DANCING , THE LINDY HOP , THE JITTERBUG , THE CHARLESTON ) Etc. every fews years Black communties create dance fads. since African people are very Rythmic and there family structure is always accompanied by Music in the household , as also other people but African peoples style is unique to them wich is noticable on any continent from america to Brazil.
Theres a long history of Black dances wich has been shown world wide from black people that has crossed over to the entertainment world pop culture that we can NOT forget like the Famous African-american Tap dancers Club the (HOOFERS)and then theres " THE NICHOLAS BROTHERS " and " THE WILL MASTON TRIO with Sammy Davis jr. " and " SNAKE HIPS EARL TUCKER " from way back in the Cotton Club days and film 1930's do the research these Brothers were Way ahead of there time , they are the early tradition of Black american dance that is shown to the american public which change the way of dance is done today !!
Floor tricks within our dances have been in our culture since the beginning i advice the next generation to do the research.
THESE ARE THE BLACK AMERICAN - CREATORS / ORIGINATORS OF FUNK STYLE " DANCING " FROM THE WESTCOAST 1960'S AND NEWYORK B-BOYING FROM THE 1970's WICH ARE BEING DONE TODAY ALL OVER THE WORLD :

- THE INFLUENCE AND SPREAD OF THE NOW POPULAR HIPHOP CULTURE IS NOW BRIDGING " RACIAL " GAPS AND IS NOW BECOMING UNIVERSALLY MAINSTREAM AND POPULAR TO ALL PEOPLE A MULTI - NATIONAL CULTURAL WINDOW INTO " BLACK AMERICAN CULTURE ".
___________________________________________________________
" A FEW YEARS LATER AFTER ITS CREATION , HIPHOP IS NOW INTRODUCED TO LATINOS AND WHITES , AND IS NOW ON ITS WAY TO BECOMING POPULAR MAINSTREAM ( MULTI-CULTURAL ) OF THE FUTURE. "
- ( 1976 to 79 )
From the Mid to Late 70s - the Hiphop B-boy culture which is now more Popular all over Newyork city which has now been INTRODUCED into the LATINO / HISPANIC communitites and neighborhoods , who Learned from the Black kids around the Bronx and other african americans in hiphop about this form of Black culture , Such as African - americans " GRAND MASTER CAZ and AFRIKA BAMBATTA AND HIS UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION B-BOYS " who introduced and Open the Doors for Latinos and other Races of ethnicities Who introduced the Modern-Style of Hiphop and B-boying/breakin too alot of the Latino youths.
During this Time of the 1970's the latinos were into there Own Latin Cultural heritage of " ( SALSA and Bolero Band music and style of Latin Ballroom Dancing ) " and also the Pop culture of the Disco Era , which the whole nation was also dancing too.
( INFO NOTE )- Earlier on in the mid 1900's another influence by Black - american musicians was the teaching and introduction of JAZZ that was blended into Latin music , wich made a good connection between America and latin countries , Same as it did for Europe.
The first HISPANIC / LATIN HIPHOP pioneers to Learn of Hiphop introduced it to the rest of the hispanic population were : DJ DISCO WIZ , DJ CHARLIE CHASE ( an ex - guitar player for a Salsa band ) and member of the Cold Crush brothers. and MC PRINCE WHIPPER WHIP , MC RUBIE DEE who were going against the " Negative Racial Feed Back " from Puertorican Latinos and from the Black people for getting into this Black Music form intstead of them continuing there own Latin / hispanic musical heritage of " Salsa or Bolero " or any other Latin music of choice , but they continued for the love of hiphop and the unity it created which bridged all Races of People together around the world who loves hiphop culture.

But other Races of people around the world embraced it and kept it going until this present day the in the 2k era .
Until hiphop got a Boost and caught on with international mainstream popularity in the ending of the 70's and beginning of the early 80's and with then a new wave of B-BOY dancers and Electric Boogiers which became popular again through MOVIES , MUSIC VIDEOS , PHOTO BOOKS , DOCUMENTARIES wich recorded the New wave generation of B -boys like " THE ROCKSTEADY CREW " and the " NYC BREAKERS " and " THE NEW GENERATION OF THE UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION " worldwide. Today there are B-boys of different Races and Nationalities around the world in movies , music videos , and dance shows it has become a multicultural phenom.
Later on during the Mid to Late 1980's Latinos along with Italian - Americans moved into another music form called " FREESTYLE MUSIC (a mix of disco , house , techno) " which can be heard today in the U.S. Rave club parties and European clubs.
