About Me

Hyding Jekyll is a band from Eugene, OR that currently consists of Greg Gillispie and Justin Stover. The band formed in April of 2008. The concept behind "Hyding Jekyll" has been to take groove oriented music, and infuse them with Heavy Metal/Hard Rock oriented music. This duality of ideals produces a melodic, groove based, progressive rock sound, bordering on the edge of Heavy Metal. They have affectionately dubbed this sound "Aggressive Progressive". So, whether the music is heavy or mellow, both sides of "Hyding Jekyll" are represented.
Hyding Jekyll's live debut was at the Taboo Nightclub on July 17th, 2008, and they have been going strong ever since. The versatility of their sound has allowed them to play with a wide variety of local acts. Ranging from Rock bands (Stillfire, Drixhen, and Wanibra.), to Progressive Rock bands (Face of Order, Broken Cell, Forrestals Fall, and Grynch), to Heavy Metal bands (We Have Guns, New World Sinner, AKA White Devil, and Monday With A Bullet.).
In April of 2009, Hyding Jekyll participated in 97.9 KNRQ's "Last Band Standing". Relatively unknown to the majority of the local scene, they made an immediate impact winning in the first round as the opening band. They continued to impress with their unique style, high energy, and raucous fans. Against tough odds, the guys made it to the final round. Despite not winning the coveted title of "Last Band Standing", making it to the final round was a huge accomplishment for a band who's only been together for little more than a year. After getting a taste of success, Hyding Jekyll looks to continue making an impression; both locally and beyond.
