Originating from San Francisco, CA and best known as the drummer for Mint Records indie-pop band Bella , Tiffany Garrett Sotomayor has started a project inspired by tough love, absent band members and a 48 hour deadline.
Playing drums, guitar, keys, vocals, and making self-produced beats, That Girl With Dark Eyes creates catchy dream pop, mixing dancey rhythms, subtle hooks and delicate vocals. Sotomayor's intensity and shoulder shaking dance moves have been described as evoking the stage presence of early Joan Jett.
Sotomayor has had the privilege of collaborating with artists such as Roddy Bottum ( Faith No More, Imperial Teen ), John Collins ( The New Pornographers ) and Will Schwartz ( Hey Willpower, Imperial Teen ) and producers JC/DC ( tegan and sara ). Her most recent songwriting effort has been chosen to be featured in an ¨Oh Henry¨ Hershey chocolate commercial.
That Girl With Dark Eyes has taken on a new journey, that only her ambition and drive could take her. Self produced and recorded by one girl who plays every instrument.
