...thoughts for this week:
"I love those who yearn for the impossible"
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
...on fulfillment:
The things I enjoy most in life are the things that are so temporal and finite: That indescribable feeling when climbing; when snowboarding; the feeling I get when running hard, running long; running under approaching thunderstorms, eager for the rain. The sound of crickets in summer nights. The way snow transforms all that is rough and angular into a soft, flowing landscape. The wind. The silence. The still.
...on suffering:
Lead me far from the gaze of perfect days;
I see more beauty in the suffered night.
...on dreams:
Young slumber settles on Night's Spartan hiss,
Where velvet highs embrace the budding dream;
Old slumber launches from Night's star-lit kiss,
Whose silhouetted lips greet Morning's beam.
...words I live by:
"Bid me run and I will strive with things impossible"
- William Shakespeare
