Britney Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana as a Southern Baptist. Her parents are Lynne Irene (née Bridges), a former elementary school teacher, and Jamie Parnell Spears, a former building contractor and chef. Spears has two siblings, Bryan and Jamie Lynn. Bryan Spears is married to Jamie-Lynn's manager, Graciella Rivera.
Circus is the sixth studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears released by Jive Records on November 28, 2008. Having sold over 505,000 copies in the United States in its first week, Circus debuted on the Billboard 200 at number one, making it Spears's fifth number-one album. The feat made Spears the only act in Nielsen SoundScan history to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more copies sold.
The album's first single, "Womanizer", became Spears's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since her debut "...Baby One More Time", almost 10 years prior. It also debuted number one in six countries including Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and top ten in an additional seven countries.
The second single, "Circus", debuted at number three on the Hot 100 chart. The third single, "If U Seek Amy", reached number nineteen on the Hot 100. On May 7, 2009, "Radar" was announced as the fourth single off the album.
The Circus Starring: Britney Spears, commonly referred to as The Circus Tour, is the seventh concert tour by American pop singer Britney Spears in support of her sixth studio album, Circus. The tour will reach North America, Europe and Australia. It is also expected to reach Asia later in the year. This tour will be the first during which Spears has toured in Australia.
It is her first world tour in five years, following The Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004. It has become the highest grossing tour of 2009 so far in the US and the third highest grossing tour worldwide, grossing US$74.6 million in its first 48 shows.
