About Me

I recently moved to Worcester from Framingham, although I have been working in Worcester since I finished graduate school in 2005. I've been a professor at a college in Worcester for a few years now, and I'm really enjoying the job and the lifestyle. I feel at home in an academic environment. Having the semester breaks is fantastic as well because it frees me up and allows me to travel. When I'm not teaching, I often roam between Worcester, the Springfield area, and New York - both the city and a close friend's lake house near Monticello.I like to exercise, and I try to eat healthy during the workweek. I take pretty good care of myself.I'm extremely passionate about music, particularly metal, and I'm used to most of the people in my life disliking much of my musical interests. When I was in college I was very involved in college radio, and I've missed that dearly ever since. In general I'm open minded about music, and I listen to a variety of genres.I listen to music constantly, and I seem to have a strange & sometimes crazy sense of humor. I also sometimes suffer from Boratitis.

My Interests

Music:

Metal is my true love: lately I listen to a lot of Strapping Young Lad & Devin Townsend, Bruce Dickinson & Iron Maiden, Nile, The Haunted, In Flames, Lacuna Coil, any album that Michael Amott plays on, Slayer, Krisiun, old school stuff, & how could I forget the mighty Blast Beast. There are just too many to list. If I'm not listening to metal, I tend towards trip-hop like Baxter and Portishead. I also like older psychedelic (The Doors, Pink Floyd). I'm very much out of touch with popular music, with a few exceptions (Dido, the 1st Evanescence album, Corky Buchek).

Movies:

Leon, Scarface, The Godfather 1 & 2, Aliens, Alien, Fargo, classic horror movies (there are very few of these), LOTR, Braveheart, & many more. I would consider myself a movie buff. No Country for Old Men was great.

Television:

The Sopranos, 24, Chappelle's Show, Deadwood, The Simpsons, Dexter, Rome, Seinfeld, Seconds from Disaster, The Tick (cartoon), Man vs Wild

Books:

Anne Rice, Poe, Lovecraft, Sklansky
