About Me

I strive for success and I'm usually never satisfied. Since graduating from law school and becoming a member of the California Bar, I've worked as an attorney in a large firm defending corporate clients in civil litigation
In my spare time, I love to travel and I love to take photos. Not necessarily in that order, but usually. I've globetrotted my way across five continents, seeing a lot of amazing places along the way. I've hiked in the Andes, trekked in the Himalayas, climbed in the Pyrenees, walked the Great Wall of China and tramped through Australia and New Zealand. Someday I hope to see Africa and Anarctica as well.
Since 2001, I've been slowly attempting to climb the highest point in all 50 United States. ( StateSummits.com ).I've been to the summit of the highest point in 45 states so far. Yet to climb are the three hardest (Alaska, Wyoming & Montana) as well as Hawaii & Oregon.
Still, overall, I've been lacking some real substance and feeling of purpose. Much like Meriwether Lewis, I'm really not satisfied with my first 30 years***. In short, I want to make a difference. So I'm moving to Camden, New Jersey, to help rebuild and reshape a community that has been down on its luck for a few years now. Hopefully I can give back enough to help "further the happiness of the human race" and not focus as much on my own happiness.
*** On August 18th, 1805, Meriweather Lewis turned 31. He was over halfway through his epic exploration of the American Northwest and Pacific with William Clark and he reckoned he was about halfway through his life overall. Yet he did not feel happiness for his past success. Instead, his journal entry contains mostly self-criticism:"I reflected that I had as yet done but little, very little indeed, to further the hapiness of the human race, or to advance the information of the succeeding generation. I viewed with regret the many hours I have spent in indolence, and now soarly feel the want of that information which those hours would have given me had they been judiciously expended. but since they are past and cannot be recalled, I dash from me the gloomy thought and resolved in future, to redouble my exertions and at least indeavour to promote those two primary objects of human existence, by giving them the aid of that portion of talents which nature and fortune have bestoed on me; or in future, to live for mankind, as I have heretofore lived for myself..."
