HoeJoe aka Mr. HoJangles

I've been rhyming since 1990, and still have a passion to write and perform. I always liked to make myself laugh with my lyrics, as well as make other people laugh. As of late, my lyrical content is about life as I see it. I'm a recovering addict, so I rhyme about my experiences with life on and off of drugs for the most part. The names of the groups I came up in are Smooth Assassinators, Voo Sha Dae, Job Core, The Malachi Brothers, and I've been down with NEA. I got to live my childhood dream for a while, getting to meet the rappers I idolized when I was 13 and stuff. I moved from Hazleton, PA to Philadelphia in 1995 to pursue a career in the music business; started out in booking and thanks to my friend iTod started interning at record labels which lead to full time employment, traveling, partying, women and all that stuff which was fun for a season...I left Philadelphia and the music business in 2003 because of a bad drug problem (but also a job opportunity, God has been good to me). I have no regrets, these experiences made me who I am. At the end of my days living in Philadelphia, I was promoting artists who rhymed about how cool it is to sell the drug that was killing me. I have found a new way to live, let me rhyme about it. When I'm not in the bondage of addiction (like now) I still love rhyming, so why stop? I do this for the love of the art and to carry some sort of message at the same time.
