At the heart of Bobby Jasso’s lifequest has always been some practice of healing. His high school years were filled with 6,000+ hours as an ER/ambulance volunteer EMT, from which he emerged profoundly convinced of how frail and finite life is. Concurrently and equally profound, was Bobby’s leaning toward the power of music and how songs could soundtrack the human spirit and effect change in one’s heart.By the time he was due to sit for his medical college admissions test, having already become disenfranchised with the litigious bureaucracy of our health care system, Bobby chose not to continue pursuing his intended occupation, cardiovascular/thoracic surgery, opting instead to try to help heal as many hearts as possible, anywhere in the world, 24/7…a vehicle of change that could be realized via songwriting and vocal performance.
Through his project band, ZenRage, Bobby’s brand of “TantraSonica†consists of a 3½+ octave range of multilingual vocals surrounded by an ethno-techno fusion of rock, funk, rap, industrial, goth, & pop. A balance of street savvy and deep compassion for the ever-changing human condition, Bobby’s worldly-relatable lyrical themes range from the primal to the divine, always striving to bridge that mind-body-soul connection with the listener.
“LEAD WITH LOVE†and "NOT YOUR GROOVE" expose the heart of Bobby's anthemic invitations for this world to come together to revolve in a more loving and tolerable manner, an evolution revolution showcasing Bobby’s passionate sense of urgency, the reflection of a sacrifice that furiously fueled a lifequest intent on healing.
"SLAVE" is the story of an earth-bound spirit named Truth, whose mission is to seek out any disconnected soul searchers and urge them not to repeat the same suicidal mistake he made, for there is hope, and if nothing else, at least some comfort in the strength in numbers, as found at The Church Of The Disenfranchised.
Perhaps Bobby's most vulnerable work to date, "FALLING THROUGH," co-penned with Producer Frank Gryner (Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie, Train) and rock artist Karen Stever, is Bobby's lament upon discovering the loss of a loved one to breast cancer, his calling and reaching out while she was still alive, and the painfully inexplicable confusion of why such a loving outreach for years went unanswered...an unhealed wound that to this day, remains Bobby's greatest test of self-healing.
Cut from zen to rage, Bobby's latest track, "YOUR KARMA'S COMIN' IN FOR THE KILL," touches upon some simply intolerable and unacceptable behaviors from both men and women who egomatically lead with anything but love. No names needed, we all know a few. Sometimes, just to stay sane on the high road, you gotta trust karma to take care of people like this in a way your best revenge never could.
