About Me

My name is Rob Paterson. I'm originally from Ithaca, NY, where I was raised in a very musical, warm and loving home along with my two sisters, Lucy and Margaret. At the age of 12, following a 4 year interlude in Brooklyn, NY I moved to Trenton, NJ, where I spent my tumultuous adolescence and early adulthood raising hell and trying to figure out where I fit in while not dying or getting arrested.
I started playing in bands at the age of 21, and will probably continue to do so for the rest of my life.
I began a career installing mobile electronics when I was 19, and made my living doing that for 10 years until I began playing guitar full time in '01.
For the last 7 years, I've been playing lead guitar in The Rockets, a regional party band. I've decided to leave that to continue my career in high end car audio/video. If you need car audio/video/bluetooth/remote start/security/etc, I work at Sound Automotive in Hamilton, NJ. 609-587-5555
I love music, laughing, good friends, food, family, working hard, self improvement and cleaning. I love springtime and autumn, snow when it's falling, but not being on the road in it, summer evenings, the ocean and reading. I love morbid art, deep talks, the sound of crickets, the delight of children, old people in love, fireflies, and being able to help someone out. I love well engineered mechanical devices, and enjoy fixing and building shit. I love the look and feel of stainless steel, brushed aluminum, weathered bronze, and wrought iron. I love the smells of old books, old dwellings, antique wood, gasoline, spring rain, freshly cut grass, new plastic toys, wet pine needles, gunpowder, coffee, zippo fluid, new electronics, leather, and most cleaning products.
