I opened up my tattoo studio in 1996 in Lock Haven. Back then there were no other tattoo studio's anywhere in the area. Now because of all the tv coverage it seems as if everyone thinks they can get a tattoo machine and become an instant tattoo artist. Well, it doesn't quite work that way. For ten years I have pushed for tattoo studio's to be licensed throughout the state. I did succeed in getting the city of Lock Haven to license tattoo studio's. If you tattoo in Lock Haven without a license you are subject to a pretty stiff fine. I am also on the Board of Health in Lock Haven.
My business steadily grew to the point to where I decided to add an apprentice. When Freddie came into my shop showing some interest I decided to let him stick around and observe for awhile. He came in everyday and watched. Finally after about six months he started to practice on melons and his friends. Freddie came along great and now he is a fully trained tattoo artist. Together there is basically nothing we can not do. The only exception is that we will not do portraits. Portraits should be done only by a tattoo artist who specializes in that art form. You can't fix up a picture that doesn't look like who it should. Our shop is open Mon. thru Sat. We open at 1:00pm and are here until we are finished. If you want a professionally done tattoo we are the place to come. Twelve years and thousands of satisfied customers later we're still at it here in Lock Haven.
