Israel Voice was born Michael Anthony Mothersil,on 1st february 1974 in august town, jamaica. At a very young age he was sent to gordon town to live with his grandmother,brothers and cousins. His grandmother was a ardent drummer who used to keep prayer meetings on sunday evenings with family and friends,participating in the singing of traditional church spirituals. While at school Israel Voice competed DJ lyrics with schoolmates by creating rythms from beating the desks.The winner of these competitions would get the opportunity to perform in front of the school at concerts. In 1986, Israel’s older brother who was a Dj for many sound systems at the time,invited him to perform at one of his dances.This experience gave him a sense of wanting more and so his exploration in the music industry began. Israel’s first recording was a dubplate at king jammy’s for producer Mikey Shine. He moved around to many producers including Youth promotion,searching for the producer who would give him the big break. In 1995, Israel Voice performed on a stage show in the national Arena,wich gave him the opportunity of promoting himself. This resulted in him getting more work. He started working with various sound systems such as twelve tribes of israel band, caveman sound system ,and stone love. He performed on rebel salute in1997, and this gave him the opportunity to start his recording career. Since then Israel as been working with various studios and in 2000 he recorded "naomi", in 2002 "ethiopian woman ash quad". In 2003,Israel was introduced to legendary reggae artist Earl Chinna Smith and his "inna de yard" record label and did a combination with vintage artist "Linval Thompson" . Since 2004 he is fully invested in the label "farm land production" and this step marked a turn in his career,recording now localy and internationnaly..... check it out !!!!
