Justin Walker suffered sever head trauma after a four wheeler accident on January 4, 2008. He was released from St. Elizabeth's ICU after 60 days only to find out he would have to go home until medicare accepted him. Justin spent 3 months at home recovering with family, friends, and home care physical therapy until he was finally accepted to TIRR rehab center in Houston mid June. Our family was hoping to have Justin stay at Tirr for at least 3 months of rehab, but due to his medicare coverage he was only admitted for 30 days. He is now back in Lumberton living with family. We are EXCITED to announce that his DOORS funding came through (Oct. 08)and he will be able to continue Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy as needed. We will keep you posted on his interest in vacationing to The Ranch for community interaction.
This page has been created for us to keep people connected on benefits being held for him and updates on his recovery. Continued prayer is greatly appreciated.
Well...due to hurricane Ike we where not been able to pull together another event for Justin this calendar year. But I am so happy to keep everyone informed of all Justin positive progress and hope everyone will send him inspirational letters regarding his 1 Year recovery celebration approaching this Jan. We are so blessed to have him here with us in such good spirits! Thanks to everyone for supporting my family during this tough recovery.
