I am a christain and I am getting more committed to god and church. I have to give a shout out to all of my family Trica, Trina, Tiffany, Yolanda, Keshia, and my only parent which is my mom who has been there for me since day one no matter what. I love her and think her for that. I also wanna give a shout out to one of my bestfriend which is Connie Houston, she has been there for me sense we broke up eventhough I messed up I never really lost her. I still have the best of love for her and wanna get back with her but only time will tell. October 6, 2006 Harrison football player dies SENIOR FERMIN VIALPANDO COLLAPSES DURING GAME VS. RIDGEVIEW ACADEMY By JOE PAISLEY, BOB STEPHENS THE GAZETTE A Harrison High School football player died Friday night after collapsing on the field during the third quarter of the Panthers’ game against Ridgeview Academy at Memorial Stadium. Senior Fermin Vialpando was taken to Memorial Hospital, where coaches, teammates, friends and family gathered. “I’m having a tough time right now and I’m trying to deal with a whole lot of kids in grief,†Harrison coach Shawn Mitchell said by telephone from the hospital. Harrison athletic director Dave Hogan said just before midnight that doctors were unsure of the cause of death. Hogan also said he was not aware of Vialpando’s having any prior medical problem. Vialpando, who was about 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, was the center on the offensive line. Harrison cornerback Miki Eltagonde, watching from the sideline, said he saw Vialpando run to call a huddle after a running play. “He was running down the field and he just stopped and fell,†Eltagonde said. “He tried getting up and then fell back again and it happened again.†Eltagonde said offensive lineman Bryant Perryman ran to the sideline yelling to coaches that Vialpando was having a seizure. Hogan said a team doctor was on the field within a minute of Vialpando’s collapsing. “Everybody’s in shock,†Hogan said. “You see what you think is a healthy young person. It’s a hard thing.†Hogan choked back tears while speaking to reporters at Memorial Hospital. “You get that sinking feeling in your chest when you’ve lost a special person,†Hogan said. “He meant so many things to so many people. A good, young kid. He was quiet, had a great smile. Everything you consider a good person, that was him.†The Class 3A South Metro Conference game was stopped immediately in the third quarter with Harrison ahead of Ridgeview Academy 40-15. Chris Valentine, public relations manager for Memorial Hospital, said he could not provide a cause or time of death. He said chaplains from the hospital as well as police and fire departments were called to help grieving players and friends. “We didn’t want anybody driving home alone,†Valentine said. “We wanted all students to go home with adults.†WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU FERMIN!!!!
