About Me

The Flatbellys burst onto the Michigan acoustic music scene last winter and have continued to explore a passion for music in any nook an cranny they can dig up. Based out of Lansing, Michigan they are a group of young musicians who have fallen headlong into a deep love with the tradition and culture of Bluegrass music. The focus of this project is to continue their exploration of traditional styles and instrumentation while attempting to develop interesting original material. As "young flatbellys pickin' with the graybeards" these native sons of Michigan are trying to bridge the gap between traditional-minded generations and younger crowds that have never before been exposed to bluegrass...
