Hi there! My name is Mickey. I have been writing my own songs since i was twelve when i woke from a dream with a crappy song in my head wich i wrote down and that's how it all started. I didn't have a musical bone in my body at the time or so i thought. Soon after i saved money from my paper round and purchased my first guitar, a canora sunburst strat and started writing metal. At sixteen i started to formulate my first band Exo Endo that mainly played AC/DC covers and played a few parties and had a great time. Sparticus was my first real band and we mainly played the original songs i had writen. I played lead guitar and sang, Chris Peszack did lead vocals Corey Betts played bass, Martin Varano played rhythm guitar and Jeff Ancilleri played drums. We played at Bell st Rock at the hieght of the metal scene, the Prince of Whales and rented a few venues and organised gigs off our own back wich always broke even. The band split just after a new singer joined us Dave Johnson and he and i formed the band Severance with drummer Paul Foenander and Dave's brother Matt Johnson on bass. We also played metal( most of the Sparticus set that i had writen) and played venues such as The Riverside Inn before it burnt down, Sarah Sands Hotel and Bell St Rock a few more times before the pokies started taking over. We split in 91 and in 96 we formed the progressive rock/pop high energy band Desert with Ben Bourke, Matt and Paul and had an absolute ball ( check the Desert website to hear the tunes ). We played the Central Club, the Club in Collingwood the Tote and alot of other great venues all over Melbourne. We we're a tight unit until personal issues developed and we parted company in 99( did someone say reunion gig?). I followed my own path for a while after that and focused on playing solo accoustic gigs. I then formed KARMIC EFFECT with Saran Snider Clint Mclean and Andrew Wigg.
