For those of you who do not know me, my name is Blake. I am a Singer/Songwriter from South Louisiana and I have been playing music since I was about 13. After playing around abbeville/lafayette area for a few years, I signed a recording contract with Ralph Records in New Orleans. I recorded 2 CD's with them until, at the age of 19, I made a life changing decision which led me to the life I am living now. I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in December of 2000. After returning from bootcamp & Infantry training, I began pursueing my music career again. I found myself more dedicated to the Corps. Although I played acoustic gigs around the area and continued to write songs, I found myself drifting away from my childhood dream of becoming the next "George Strait".Eventually, I was playing more for Marine Corps functions and found myself singing the national anthom (in my blues of course) all around south louisiana at major events (and very small ones too). Although I never got back on track with my career, where it was before I joined the Marines, I was still happy where my life was taking me.My unit was deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in September 2004 till April of 2005. On a roof in Fallujah, I promised myself if I made it back home, I would play music again full time. I got back home and got back into Recruiting (go figure). It was during that time I met a beautiful girl, and she became the best thing to ever happen to me. We were engaged about a year later. I completed my enlistment in Jan. 2007. After friends from Nashville convinced me to head up there, I decided to test out the water.I moved to Nashville and roomed with a friend of mine, which was greatly appreciated! I met some really great friends out there who would continue to help me. I got a job selling computers at Dell and moved to Antioch, Tn. (near Nashville). I went home for a show in Louisiana and decided then that I would rather start a marriage at home (more $$$). I packed up and hauled ass back to Louisiana after 4 months in Tennessee! Heidi and I got married and I went into the oil and gas industry. I moved up the ladder and then got a job as a MWD Operator (measurement while drilling). If you are looking to purchase my cd's, you can go to RalphRecords.com or google my name and you'll find somewhere to download it for 99cents/song. I will record another cd soon! it will be my best one yet!I'm not gonna say you'll see me on CMT or selling out stadiums around the U.S. But if your around South Louisiana, I garentee you can see me playing on my front porch with my wife, family and friends drinking an Ice cold beer! God Bless and SEMPER FIDELIS!!!
