About Me

Pete Sung has been in the electronic music scene for the past 13 years running an independent electronic music label (Infinite City, Open Air Music, You Are Hear), djing, producing and organizing parties. Pete Sung started playing records and throwing parties in Florida in the mid 90's and quickly moved into the NYC electronic music world.
Pete is a regular on the global house and techno scene regularly playing in top clubs and parties in SF, LA, Miami, NY, Chicago, Detroit, London, Antwerp, Ocha-rios, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Istanbul, Paris, Brussels, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Berlin, Stockholm, Liege, Moscow playing alongside names like Ame, Funk D'Void, Derrick Carter, Chicken Lips, Groove Armada, Abe Duque, Brett Johnson, Jef K, Spirit Catcher, Simon Baker. He has been a resident in the main room for his Never Sleep! Party with partner Tres Manos at Club Fellini in Barcelona since 2006 bringing in guests such as Jef K, Giles Smith (Secret Sundaze), Roberto Rodriguez (Goa/Weekend Madrid), and others…
Known for his diversified deepness and variety Pete has played festivals such as NY's famous P.S.1 Summer Warmup in 2003 for 4,000 people right after the infamous blackout alongside his PLAY partners, Lisa Shaw and DJ Swingsett. Pete's party En Plaxx at Izzy Bar in NY with partner Holmar Filippson (Mr. Negative, Thugfucker, Crack and Speed) was voted best place to dance illegally in NY's Village Voice 2000 with guests such as NY House Legend Kerri Chandler. His three-year bi weekly residency with partners Don Vu and Jay Lee (Modal) for their PLAY party was widely considered one of the best places in NY to hear everything from deep house, house, techno to straight up disco. Here Pete played alongside dj's such as Metro Area, Dennis Ferrer, Jerome Syndenham, Pal Joey, Neil Aline (Chez), John Howard (Om), Holmar Filippson, Jack (DIY), Pete Moss, Yannick (Needs), Iz and Diz, Lance Desardi, Danny Wang, Dixon, Osunlade, Jef K, Rub-n-Tug, DJ Spun, Onionz, Joeski, Melvin Moore, Jori Hulkonnen, Llorca, Alexi Delano, JT Donaldson, Sasse, Gene Farris, Raoul, and many others. The PLAY trio's loft just around the corner from their venue Sapphire Lounge was notoriously infamous for their late night music sessions otherwise known throughout downton NY as "Delancey" as well as their parties at 59 Canal and their recurring guest slots at David Hollands' Sunday Cafe Novecento party . Their Delancey Street loft became a forum for Holmar Filipson's after parties for the N'ice parties at Centro-Fly and others as well...here Pete, Don, and Jay paid their dues and got to play alongside some of the biggest house names around.
Pete has also been a fixture in the NY club scene regularly playing clubs such as Crobar, Avalon, Centro-Fly, Sullivan Room, Cielo, APT, the Matter-Form Boat parties, Shelter, Cafe Novecento alongside names such as Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Groove Armada, John Howard, Alexi Delano, Adultnapper, The Wicked Crew, John Cutler, Magda, Kevin Saunderson, Todd Terry, Alex from Tokyo and others. Pete also had the fortune of playing alongside DJ Harvey in Malibu at his legendary Moonshadow’s parties.Pete was also a resident at Love in NY alongside partner Kimyon with it's infamous Gary Stewart sound system playing alongside guests such as Juan Atkins, Paul Johnson, Boo Williams, DJ Pierre, Terry Mullan, and others for the Return of the Jacks parties.
Pete has been splitting time between NY and his new home, Barcelona for the past two years where he has been very active in the studio as well as a regular in the DJ community. He has brought his 13 years of classical violin training into his studio world in a town full of many great electronic music producers and lots of inspiration. Pete has been a producer with several remixes and tracks with partner John Howard for label Infinite City and Seven Limited Records. His new release with partner Steve Ferrand and their track "Check it Out" is due out this summer on Urban Torque. His recent release on Dessous’ Best Kept Secrets double mix cd by Steve Bug and Vincenzo with Steve Ferrand was also released on 12” for Best Kept Secrets Vol. 2. Look for future releases on Dessous Recordings with Steve Ferrand and also with his recent production partner Jay Leblone (Soma). Watch out for the forthcoming Realismo with Jay LeBlone feat. Carol Sampaio which is simply slamming deepness...
Pete has started a new label called Open Air Music with partners Christian Smith (Tronic) and James Healy (the Agriculture, Open Air Bar). Look for their first release debuting in Miami this year from Alucidnation with remixes by Vincenzo, Jay Leblone & Pete Sung, and Escape Arts. Their second release is slated to be Smith & Selway for Spring 2008.Discography
