When non-Alaskans think of Alaska they might think of adventure, thrills, snow, and the mystery that is the last frontier, but to us Alaskan music fans there is no mystery; we lack a real music scene. Yes, Alaska has bands and some of them are pretty good; however, other then the few hundred involved not many people, even those that live in Alaska, know of many other Alaskan musicians other then 36 Crazyfists and Jewel. So we formed the Alaskan Music Alliance (or the AKMA) to help promote the growth of a solid music scene in Alaska that is filled with new music, more shows, more places to play, and an over all feeling of unity whether your a musician or you just love music. We at AKMA believe that together we can make a scene! Visit our blog to learn more about AKMA and see how you can get involved! Everybody is welcome.
