Andy Collett

About Me

Andy Collett studied music at the Birmingham Conservatoire (with the great Fred T. Baker) in the UK and was a widely respected jazz musician on the music scene during this time. Other than gaining an incredible tolerance for canteen tea, some of the highlights were... being in the first thrash metal band to grace the Adrian Boult Hall (Buttercups and Daisies), being involved in a production of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and countless gigs around the UK, and a special guest appearance at the Birmingham guitar show (Fender stand)with New York based jazz guitarist Randy Johnson.

Andy is currently active in the Vienna area of Austria with "Big South", a group of top Vienna based musicians

The tune "Hot Wired" is a kind of modern standard for guitarists and Andy wanted to pay him a tribute. If you haven't heard Brent Mason then make sure you do!
