About Me

The following is what's called a Nooma , which are videos featuring a guy named Rob Bell, the teaching pastor at Mars Hill , a church near Grand Rapids, Michigan. If you ask me, they are pretty incredible.

So, I guess my quarter life crisis hit. If you haven't heard, I've decided to forgo the remainder of my graduate schooling and pursue a career in full-time ministry. As best as I can figure sometime down the road, God willing and in His timing, I'll go out and plant a church, probably in the Chicagoland area. Or, maybe I'll become a worship pastor. Or, maybe I'll be involved in youth ministry. Who really knows? In the mean time, I'll continue to pour into the newly formed Near West Vineyard Church on the near west-side of Chicago (near the University of Illinois – Chicago ), a church plant of the Hyde Park Vineyard Church , of which I was a part for nearly three years. I'm helping out at NWV as a worship leader and in a general leadership role. In preparation for pastoral work, I'm also a part of the Vineyard Leadership Institute , a two-year program designed to equip church leaders and planters within the Vineyard movement. I work downtown for Susquehanna International Group as a stock option trader (sounds exciting, I know!). I'm from the Peoria area, originally. I went to undergrad at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, from which I graduated in 2004. I then moved to Chicago to pursue a graduate degree in physics at the University of Chicago , getting a master's degree in 2005. That's about all there is to know about me. Seriously...
