About Me
I'll probably watch the movie "Aliens" on a fairly consistent basis for the rest of my life. (Cut to me dead in this chair by morning, my "Aliens" copy almost to the DVD player . . . yes, Cruel Universe wins this time!)
Lately I've been getting into studying the universe. By that, I mean I've watched an episode or two of the show "Universe" on the History Channel, and been reminded of how I'd like to read more of the writings of Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking.
I love being alive. I'm endlessly grateful to be a part of this time and place, and to know the people I do. Many of them, anyway. My friends and family are amazing, essential components in my life. Spending time with them brings me joy like nothing else.
Smiling and laughter - those are pretty high on my priority list, too. Fiscal responsibility and planning ahead are all good and well, but come on, now. Where's the enjoyment in that?
I take a great deal of interest in film and writing. I'm getting paid to write these days, which I'm thrilled about.
Also high on my list: sleep, dreams, books, sex, true-crime novels, sorbet, hot showers, recreational drugs, being alone . . . and not, board games, bowling, taking walks. Ah, yes, and I give a hell of a good massage.
I can't wait to see what sorts of adventures this next chapter of California living has in store. There's a lot to be done. And much enjoyment to be had. I've decided those won't be mutually exclusive activities.As a side note, I think people who are too fucking lazy or self-important to return their shopping cart to its designated spot should be shot. By me. But while I'm the one doing it, I think I'd rather utilize something more creative than a firearm death. BORING.
