About Me

The Cypher Moon Network is an outlet for independent TV and Music Producers to display their crafts to the global market in the highest quality format. The main production arm for the Cypher Moon Network is Wide World Development, LLC, a multimedia production company that was founded by L.A. Dave in 2003.
Cypher Moon translates into Complete Wisdom. This concept that was bestowed on L.A. Dave by the Supreme Being after years of building a spiritual foundation under the leadership of the late Rev. E.W. Lashley (C.O.G.I.C.), Elder Melvin Moore (C.O.G.I.C) and Rev. Bernard Yates (Primitive Baptist). In addition to L.A. Dave's spiritual foundation his older brother Efrem introduced him to music as a youth, in the early 70's. Mr. Spencer at Henry Clay Jr. High School in Los Angeles, CA introduced L.A. Dave to the String Bass in the early 80's. Mr. Spencer is the same music instructor that got Efrem to fall in love with the saxophone and flute a decade earlier.
Since, L.A. Dave's brother was 9 years older than him, L.A. Dave loved to tag along with him to band rehearsals and was thus introduced to the 9-piece band and the live stage show concept. L.A. Dave's brother was smart and made him work while tagging along, so he became a Roadie (or at least he thought he was) for the 70's/80's funk and R&B bands RIPE, BLUE ICE, SWITCH and the GREATER ST. PAUL C.O.G.I.C. CHOIR. As a perk, he got to grow up watching and listening to his brother play with legendary Guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr. (Michael Jackson - Thriller, Luther Vandross, The Whispers), renowned Drummer/Producer Bernadette "Bennie" Cooper (Klymaxx, Shalamar), Vocalist/Vocal Coach Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, American Idol), Keyboardist/Artist/Producer Patrice Rushen, Artist/Keyboardist/Producer Chuckii Booker, DJ Rogers, Sr., Keyboardist/Song Writer Michael Norfleet (Switch, O'Brian, Aaron Neville, Dawn Norfleet) and award winning Photographer JLash.
When L.A. Dave got his opportunity to study from Mr. Spencer, he chose the String Bass and the Bass Guitar and therefore played in the school band like his older brother. L.A. Dave played with Keyboardist/Producer Mike Saulsberry (Portrait), Rapper Candy Man (Knocking Boots, Platinum Producer Johnny J (TuPac, Candy Man) and Platinum Producer Sir Jinx (Ice Cube, WC & The Madd Circle, Kool G Rap).
L.A. Dave was introduced to the world of TV and Film through his God-brother Richie Mac. Richie Mac got L.A. Dave a job as an Extra on Hollywood Shuffle, America's Most Wanted, McGyver and as a Co-Producer on the 2003 straight-to-video hood classic "Banged Out." Also, L.A. Dave got the audio/video/film production bug even more while working as a Production Assistant under DJ Pooh & Rick Freeman as they put together Ice Cube's "Death Certificate" album, the St. Ides campaign and production for King Tee, Kam and Yo-Yo. This lead to L.A. Dave becoming the southern Promoter for Deadly Threat's "Sickindahead" album which was the debut album on DJ Pooh's Da Bomb Records/Mercury.
For these reasons, L.A. Dave began building a video content library through ENG (electronic newsgathering) techniques in 1993 and won an award for a Taco Bell Corp. commercial that he shot and Co-Directed. In 1996, L.A. Dave won an AFI (American Film Institute) Award for "The Pledge," a project that he Co-Directed and was the Director of Photography and an Associated Press Award for a documentary that he Co-Produced on the historical Jackson, MS Ferris Street Arts District. This was a still works toward having one of the largest content libraries garnered by an independent source. L.A. Dave has acquired "In Yo Face" exclusive video interviews with Lil Jon, Bizarre, David Banner, Fiend and John Singleton, just to name a few.
During 2004 - 2006, L.A. Dave Produced and Directed a series of music videos for independent Artists such as the video "U Ain't Hard" for Jackson, Mississippi's Kamikaze which is one-half of the duo "Crooked Lettaz" which includes Platinum Producer/Artist/Actor David Banner.
In 2006, L.A. Dave Co-wrote the screenplay "Teaze" - with the very talented Kelvin Maurice Hughes, who is a partner and the franchise Writer for the Cypher Moon Network. Kelvin is like Kobe in the 4th quarter with the game on the line - he delivers! "Teaze," is a coming of age tale of a girl that uses what she has to get what she wants, and ends up getting more than she bargained for. Furthermore, in 2006, Kelvin was able to write the screenplay "Down Home," which is in Pre-Production along with a half a dozen other scripts that are in development.
In 2007, L.A. Dave worked as a Co-Producer, Interviewer and Director of Photography on the straight-to-video DVD magazine "Caught- Raw & Uncut" - The Director's Cut along with Lomil "Milleon" Truitt of U Do It Entertainment and Caughtmag.com. On this project L.A. Dave shot and conducted the finale exclusive interview with Lil Jon.
