DEN OF ANTIQUITY is an early stage developmental rock duo formed by two musicians from the Bay Area rock cover band The Music Jones -- Mark Sargent and Phil Benjamin.Tapping into a wide variety of classic rock influences, their highly original "new" classic rock evokes the likes of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Santana, The Rolling Stones and Rush. More modern influences like Foo Fighters and White Stripes/Raconteurs can also be heard throughout the highly infectious tracks.The Sargent/Benjamin combo is hard at work churning out a collection of tunes that harken back to the purer days of what is now termed "classic" rock. Continuing in that genre with a modern day point of view, the duo focuses on heavy guitar riffs, genuine lyrics and a well placed face melting guitar solo here and there.The work is literally composed, performed and produced in Sargent's den on a Boss Mini Studio. Those work conditions - along with the devotion to the classic rock heyday - has spawned the appropriate name for this duo's project : DEN OF ANTIQUITY.
