I am monsiegneur le comte de la Fere. I grew up in the south of France where I spent many happy years. After finding that my wife had been branded with a fleur de lis I quickly hung her from the nearest tree. To avoid my secret coming out and to hide from the shame I took up a post in the King's Musketeers ( Louis XIII). I spent fifteen years in M. de Treville's company. There I made many friends however there are three whom I shall always hold above others; Baron du Vallon, L'Abbe de Herbalay and D'Artagnan. These fine gentlemen and myself were often called upon to defend our kingdom and our Honour. We often crossed swords with the Cardinals guatrds. After leaving the musketeers I retreated to my estate in Bragellone accompanied by my friend of many years Grimaud and my son Raoul whom I have raised into an honourable young man. However I did not sit idly whilst important changes were taking place. I went to England with my friend L'Abbe de Herbalay in order to defend the crown of Charles Stuart. Sadly we were unable to stop his execution. However I believe I have setlled the matter by rendering his son Charles Stuart II the service I gave my word I would do; I helped him in any way I could in order to restore the English monarchy. Presently I have chosen to retire from a life of adventure and spend my time growing old in peace.Comte de la Fere
