Michael Moore-songwriter

Michael was introduced to the trumpet in grade school, and music became a passion and focus of his life through high school. During four years at the University of Toronto, where he completed his Bachelor of Music, Mike’s performance experiences included various University of Toronto ensembles (symphonic and jazz), brass quintets, theatre groups and musicals. Mike auditioned and was accepted into the Orchestral Training Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, but elected instead to attend post graduate education at Nipissing University, earning a Bachelor of Education. After graduation, Michael continued to perform as principal trumpet with the Mississauga Symphony for eight years, and did various freelance engagements. Mike is currently running a band program in a local school, sharing his love for music with his students. Michael began his song writing in 2002, in his home studio. Influenced by Canadian music greats Gordon Lightfoot and Stan Rogers, his songs focus on everyday people and everyday events. Michael’s songs are produced by Steven Cooper in Nashville, TN.
