Sigma Lambda Delta is a unique sorority that was founded in 2003 at Oregon State University by Jona Hightower and Tonya Malone.We bask in the glory of friendship by having a sister host a sisterhood event every week. We bond truly as sisters despite differences in our race, ethnicity, age, field of study, sexual orientation or marrital status.We celebrate our family connections by pampering our parents during Mom's and Dad's Weekends.Our philantropy is to assist abused and abandoned domesticated animals. We work closely with Heartland Humane Sociaty (located in south town) as well as SafeHaven (located on Highway 34).Every term, the sorority sponsors a special event. In Fall term, the events is generally centered around the arts. We treat ourselves to a wonderful dinner, dressed in formal attire during Winter term. Spring term is always highly anticipated, because we steal an entire weekend to go on a fun-tabulous retreat.
