Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 3, 1972, Kevin Brian Wright is a man of diverse character whose passions flow throughout all aspects of his existence. He is a poet, screenwriter, actor, martial artist, stuntman, fight/action and stunt choreographer. And all these activities intertwine to provide the fullfillment in his life. A son of a US Marine/Fire Fighter and a Medical Technician, As a child he was obssessed with the Martial Arts, performing stunts and writing poetry. Some would say thats a strange combination, some a calling! Kevin began his studies in the Martial Arts at an early age, becoming a 6th degree black belt, a Ninjutsu/Aikido master, and an expert in modern-day, classical and envriomental weaponry. while at the same time, has become a nationally acclaimed poet, releasing his third book, A Lovers Passion in 2007.
With no formal training in stuntwork, except his natural ability. As a child he use to scale the Dietz Coal Mine water towers, practice forms on the seventh story beams on the Glendale mews construction site, and jump from Mafera Parks extention bridge onto moving frieght trains. Today Wright has taken his stunts far beyond the next level and incorporates such dangerous physical activities into his on screen martial arts performances.
Kevins acting career was launched from a Long Island Dojo in the late 90s where he taught Martial Arts to police officers, children, adults, actors and filmmaker John Monjovi who paved the way for Kevin to appear in his first action film as a stuntfighter "In The Name Of The Father" in 1995 and from there it launched him into19 movies. Kevin immerses himself to his work, writing, acting, stunwork, action / stunt and martial arts choreography. His films include, 9 Shadows Of Koga Ryu, 10-13, The Badlands, The Assassin, and The Shoguns Ninja to name a few, all are known for their fast paced Hong Kong style action and martial arts scenes.
Today, Kevin continues to make movies, but one of the greatest passions of this diversely artistic man is his poetry. He is a prolific writer, whose work has been compared to some of the most legendary poets to walk this earth. John Keats, William Blake, Percey Shelly, and his greatest influence, Lord George Noel Byron. When it comes to his poetry he remains true to the classics which is evident in his book Theological Immortal Romance (An Elysian Love Story) which is a bestseller in the European markets.
