Be in love with yr life. -J.K.

About Me

I like to sit on park benches, in airport terminals, in waiting rooms anywhere and watch people be people. (Which allows me to tolerate trips to the DMV!) I don't like people to be a certain way, I just like them to be honest and comfortable about whatever way they are. I like to laugh. I wish I were funnier myself, so I surround myself with funny people hoping it will rub off. I LOVE music, wish I were better at it, and as long as I keep comparing myself to Ella Fiztgerald I always will (mo-tee-vay-shown!). I am terribly in love with this incredibly hot Catalan man who has been kind enough to marry me and make me an honest woman (tee-hee), and I could probably spend all my time listening to him practice guitar, although I would like to make something of myself someday...I'm just not sure yet what...

My Interests

(not in order of importance): Food, wine, CSI (Las Vegas only, of course), good books, my husband, cooking, singing, jazz, restaurants, my most wonderfullest friends and sorry I'll think of more later CSI just came on...

I'd like to meet:

More of my homies, crew, heads, hair-pies who can explain how this whole thing works...

Music:

Ella, Billy, Sarah, Diana...King Pleasure and all things vocalese...Scofield, JJ Johnson... Pop music, too, I can't lie...a little Christinia Aguilera never hurt anyone... Blues blues blues...Ray Charles is my hero. Seriously. Anything my adorable husband is currently strumming on his guitar...

Movies:

Seriously, does ANYONE care what movies I like?

Television:

morbid morbid morbid...CSI Las Vegas, Law and Order...anything where they catch a bad guy...then all that stuff on TLC like "Trauma: Life in the ER" since I secretly want to be a trauma surgeon but prefer to do so vicariously on the comfort of my couch at home...

Books:

depends on the month...right now the heavy shit...lots of social theory because I am convinced we're on the brink of social disaster...

Heroes:

You know who you are...

My Blog

"A man of character does not ask a single soldier to die for a failed policy."

So I can't honestly believe I might quote Lee Iacocca, but if even an old (very old) business mucky-muck like Lee can have the common sense to be outraged, then every intelligent being of our generati...
